imo the Charger is the best looking land mount in the game (except maybe Attumen's mount, maybe). In that respect I'd say it's well worth it. If you don't care what your mount looks like, I don't see why you should go through the trouble of finding people to do the instance parts with you. Just my 2c

Depends how good you are at getting groups for the instances, how fast you can make gold, and whether or not you want to have it as a badge of being a level 60+ paladin. This is not a question of whether we think you should, its a question of whether you want to or not.

I wasn't really impressed with the BE charger, so I stopped leveling at 57 and grinded my TB rep just so I could get the Great White Kodo mount.

I have a blast, it's like I'm in a constant Benny Hill show. After running around a while with my wife and her Epic Forsaken mount, she was all sad and said she wanted a kodo now.

Was it worth it, for me very much so. Some others like the charger looks, some prefer to go with the PvP mounts, really just what you feel comfortable with.

My pali and friend and I decided to take the pali mount route. it is tough. Took about 2 weeks with a lot of good luck finsing groups to help us from our guild.

You definitely need to get groups together to do currently unpopular instances (like Dire Maul). So your guildies have to be really really nice. Getting pugs to help you is virtually impossible. IF you are not a social player - buy the epic.

Also for the final battle in Scholo our group wiped (since we didn't know the fight we made tactical mistakes) even though we were all over 60 and had some 65+s. Thankfully two palis were doing the quest so we didn't have to go back to Stormwind to restart. The 2nd try we did it and got the mount. I have no idea how 5 l60s did it pre BC.

Cost wise - the pali mount was a bit cheaper than buying a regular epic mount but not so much so -with judicious buying at the AH. I think I spend around 400G.

many times during the process I wished I had just bought the epic mount but when we finally got ours it was a great moment. And two weeks later somebody whispered - nice mount.

Not going to lie, the whole process to get the EM was a pain in the butt. I'm a casual player and play for about 4 hrs mondays. Took me 4 weeks all and all. Grinding, getting a group, mats, gold.... but in the end I felt it was so worth it.

Would I do it again? Yeah, but I'd start preping at lvl 58 for it all.

Will you do it? Ahh we can all say what we want, but it's really up to you.

For me, I like playing the game. So I get exp for the quests. Have fun with different groups while questing and running DireM. Talk with other pallys who have taken up the quest for their EM. Share stories afterwards...

Well, it's an experience only a pally can have. Join the brotherhood I say and get your Charger.

At the end of the day it really just depends on what you like but be warned it will take some time. It is a very much rewarding experience though when you get out of the Scholomance and summon up your charger for the very first time. The thing is, if your more focused on levelling or getting your mount quickly do it the other way and come back at level 70. Just an other option for you i guess.

The hardest part for me was finding a group for the Dire maul part of the chain. I could never find a group for DM so in then end i had to resort to /2 wtb Dire Maul run. I found that Strath and Scholo were no where near as bad.

It seems there is no love for the Dire Maul dungeons!

Yes. Finding a good pug is a pain.... for just about any group.

I've found that the easiest way to get a pug for Dire is to do a search in Epl and Wpl and start pst'ing. There are still a few that like to run around in there, espically for rep and running Dire is a fast way to get it. I understand there are some good sholder enchants to be earned that way.

Not saying it's as easy as putting a pug together for BF... but it only took me 20 min to get one together once I though of how to do it.

Good luck either way you go.

I'm still working on my epic mount (currently lvl 61). Finally got the 5 Holy Waters from Stratholme (total pain in the butt). NOTE: Get a dwarf to come with you since they can sense the right crates.

Now, I need to go to Dire Maul, then the follow up in Scholo.

So far, I've spent 355g and 2 weeks. I don't have to spend any more money, so that will be my grand total for the epic mount :)

The best thing (I found) is to quest away in Hellfire, and LFG while you are doing it. Once you find one, then head to the instance. If you don't find one, then at least you haven't wasted any time. Also, I've had my best luck with sending pst to Pallys, and tell them that you are on your Charger quest. They are more willing to help out.

Hope that helps.

Is it worth it??.....I asked that same question at first (on this very forum). Answer - of course it is!!! Alliance Pallys are the only characters that get this mount. It was made specifically for you. Spend some time (and less money than a regular epic mount), and get the mount that was designed for your character. At least, that is my opinion.
