As you may know already, I'm 41/20 combat mutilate, but I'm getting into arena and PvP a lot more lately and decided that I wanted a bit more versatility. After looking at a few specs and asking around a bit, I decided on something like this:

http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=f0xcZG0E0rxz0MhoZAMcs0ho

While it's lacking Relentless Strikes and Imp. EA, it gives me a lot of sexy PvPnis size.

So what do you think?

Edit: URL link in post = fail.

I'd say no. I am currently 41/20 and love it, but using daggers in a build built for heavy hitting weapons, just isn't the way to go.

Recently i have been enlightened to the use of an Ar/Prep build and will be switching to one as soon as I pick up both S1 maces.

As for a decent AR/Prep build, Mongoosexcore posted a good thread about a few builds including AR/Prep Here.

No. Stop. Follow Shao's Two-Step Process to success.

1.) Evaluate your life and time. Do you have time for end game first? If you can't put up about ~4 hours of play time per week you should just spec whatever you want as you really won't be in any thing that requires a spec (casual pvp and casual pve specs really don't matter). If you do have time, proceed to step 2.

2.) Do you want to PvE or PvP? You really can't be "hardcore both": pve specs/gear tend to not do as well as pvp specs/gear in pvp and vice versa.

If you want to PvE, gear for Hit/AP/Crit (in that order) and pick between these builds:

Combat Mutilate
Combat Daggers
Combat Swords
(And less damaging but still somewhat viable) Shadowstep

If you want to PvP, gear for stamina/resil until you have approx. 10k life. Then you can look more for Resil/Ap/Crit. Stack resilience until you get 494, and with current itemization that probably won't be a quickly obtained goal. You then can pick between the following for viable specs:

Combat Maces
AR/Prep (as maces).

Due to resilience, positioning and conditional damage, maces are now by far the best weapon for a pvp rogue. You really aren't doing yourself a favor still playing as daggers as it's too hard of a spec to play well (most rogues who do play it greatly are usually backed by an equally great team mate). If you want to carry a team or at least not bring that team down, ditch the daggers and grab a mace.

No, no, and no. One of my rogues came to Gruuls as ShS while I was still 41/20, and I completely and utterly destroyed him on DPS, as did EVERYONE else(srsly, he was dead last).

I no longer allow any rogue specced ShS in our raids.

AND YOU FOR GOT 11/27/22+1 HEMO....WTF SHAO??? :D

Hence the "somewhat". He probably wasn't geared very well either, it shouldn't finish THAT low.

Well, here's the thing. I already have S1 mainhand and S2 offhand... I don't want to have wasted 18000 honor and 1000 arena points on my weapons... so I'm sticking with daggers. I'm not planning to get in the 2200+ rating range where mutilate is 'dead', and I've been performing just fine so far, but I'm wondering if, as daggers, this build will be better.

Here's a a link to my armory for further clarification (now that I've replaced that T1 belt >.<). It appears that all my new gladiator gear is unsocketed/unenchanted, as well as my new PvP trinket not being shown, but I have about 9.7k hp and 240 resilience unbuffed right now.

Edit: No, Shao, i'm not some nubbish rogue who's just dinged 70 and speaks with the grammar/spelling/punctuation of a drunken kindergartener. I know what I'm doing for the most part. Also, I don't want to become a hybrid raider/PvPer. I've come up with the idea of being a raider for one expansion, then a PvPer for the next, etc. I know what stats to stack, etc (although HP and resilience are top on my list right now, which is shown by the lack of hit).

I don't want no maces.

The only build that works in arena without maces is mutilate.
