Ok so I was looking at my Armory today and with the exception of the Survivalist pike (which should have updated to Terroks Quill) everything there is present.

I was wondering if I got good enough gear to start enchanting it up and running some Heroic ramps. Reason I ask this is due to the fact my guild seems to be dead set on doing these runs and at the moment they seem to not be listening to me when I ask for help running any of the non Heroic instances.

I think I am doing good but I really want to feel like I am contributing to the group more than just a chain trapper.

If you feel I have good enough gear and I just need chants on them then I am gonna try that. Terroks quill is gonna get the +35 agil chant once I get the mats for it.

Thank you.

To be honest, I wouldn't want you in a heroic run. If everybody else in your group is very well geared and well played you would be fine, but you would definitely be a weak link if everybody else is just adequately geared.

Read Aethien's pre-raid gear thread at the top of the forum. Should be wearing stuff from that list in every slot except maybe one or two before trying a heroic.

In my experience, heroics are on par, if not more difficult than Kara.

I agree with Rocks - I think you're undergeared for heroics. I'm in a similar boat - my guild is starting to look towards the heroics, but we know we still need much better gear.

The general rule of thumb we use is, I think, from Aethenian's guide - everyone has all dungeon blues/pvp epics fully gemmed and chanted. You have way too many greens and your gems are low quality. I can see not spending 100g for the +8 agi gems, but the +6ers are only 2-5g, a much better investment. The second tier of the other gems should be roughly comparable in price as well.

I'd take you along for normal SV, Shattered Halls and Shadowlabs, but not heroics.

However... If the rest of the group was in really good gear, you might do alright in heroic Bot. It's still hard, but by far the easiest heroic in the game and you get the most badges to get better gear. With a Heroic Daily quest, you can get 7 heroic badges from 1 run.

As for specific suggestions for your gear... Don't put agility on Terokk's quill. You're not at the point that you'll benefit from it. Go for Savagery. Besides, it's cheaper. Put a scope on your bow. And wait for either an AV or EotS weekend to build up honor for the non-set epic PvP boots. You'll use them until well into Kara. Oh replace those rings, already! They're level 60 greens. Pathfinder's Band is fairly cheap, and there are some quests in Shadowmoon and Netherstorm that give nice rings as rewards.

Just run lots of Sethek, Durnholde, SV, SLabs, BM, Arc, Bot, and mech. Any of those should have one or more upgrades for you. There is a very nice ring in Sethek, pants in Durnholde, SS in SLab, Hourglass of the unraveler in BM that I can think of off the top of my head (mostly because I'm still wearing all of those ^^).

That's easy to say, but the OP stated that his Guild wants to do Heroics and isn't interested in running normal difficulty Instances.

HitashLevat, you've got a few options:

- Try more persuasion. There should be some others in your Guild who can use faction or gear from standard runs. Find out who those people are and group with them.

- Quest. There are a huge number of quest rewards which are better gear, by far, than some of what you're wearing now. Many of these can be accomplished solo.

- Find a new Guild with more helpful people.

And you desperately need Hit Rating. 16 is the lowest I've ever seen on a level 70 Hunter. There are two quest reward rings which offer identical stats. IIRC it's 10 Hit Rating, 15 AGI, and 50 AP. Get both of them. Go for the Sonic Spear for 24 more, or the Thrallmar/Honor Hold weapon with 19. Try to find groups for the Instances where Desolation shoulder and boot pieces drop, and run them until you get two. You'll be upgrading your gear and improving your Hit Rating by a massive amount all at the same time.

Um... Pug? At least on my server the ratio of morons isn't nearly so high as everybody seems to suggest. I was the first 70 in my guild by more than a month, and was geared for and running Kara weekly before anybody else got there. It only takes a few PuGs and if you're good enough at your class to stand out you'll start getting repeat invites. Friend list good tanks and healers and likewise /w them to invite you again if they ever need another DPS. It really doesn't take that long to start getting a good reputation, and once you have a few people on your friend list and you on theirs you can get a group together pretty quickly.

You're also worried too much about socket bonuses. And your two pieces of the Beast Lord armor will probably last you a while, so invest some money in good gems and enchants for them. +12 attack power gems are dirt cheap, and +16 gems, while significantly more expensive, aren't so bad when you start doing daily quests and such. My general rule of thumb is to not worry about a socket bonus if it involves any sort of blue gem. All blue gems that have any use to a Hunter (that I can think of off the top of my head, anyway) have either stamina or MP/5. Which aren't bad stats, of course, but they aren't stats I ever specifically look for. Especially in heroics - if you're taking hits, you're dead, so stamina is hardly worth it. With your attack power where it is, you'd be better off stacking +16 attack power gems.

BL tunic is easy to match the socket bonus on. Stick 16AP gems in the red sockets and the 8AP/6stam gem in the blue socket and get your 4 agi socket bonus. 40AP, 4Agi and 6Stam for three sockets. Easy peasy. If you can't afford the rare quality gems, then the cheapy ones will do you well enough and should only cost a couple of gold each, but like Mikey said the BL stuff will last you a while so spend the gold if you have it.

Your gear is ok in the most slots.
I've started doing heroics with equally bad gear. The main difference was that I had gemmed/enchanted my gear to the max (which I still do).

Replace those stamina gems (you have at least 1k HP you can exchange with AP, crit, ...). Buy at least +14ap gems (better the +16AP ones).
Enchant your gear (yes, all of it, except you expect an upgrade within one or two weeks on a certain slot).

After having that done you should be ok for most heroics.

BTW, if you can spare the talent points go for those 5% crit in MM tree, that should help your damage quite a bit (at least you can reduce your talent points in survivalist for 2% additional crit).
