I called my first boar Rover, and referred to it as a dog. There are no wolves to speak of on Tenesil only cats and boars, so I figured Night elves did not know what a dog was. Sadly it turned into a pig and demand more food than I gave it and ran away.

Name it Ironhide, just because of the armor it has. Or maybe Abrams, like the tank because boars are tank pets.

My very first boar I named Sausages.

My 2nd boar, which I released after about 20 minutes, I named NotoriousPIG.

My 3rd boar, which I am currently working to level to 70, I named PiggySmalls.

I just tamed my rotting Agamar (sp?) from RFK lastnight with the help of a guildie. After reading this, I think I will name him Ironhide, that name fits him so much. Time to level my little piggy up :D

Another thought/consideration for those with serious intentions for their pets and will keep them at lvl 70 etc..

Many hunters have 2 or 3 pets for end-game so that they can train them specifically for a certain type of instance or role i.e. for certain types of magic res, Pure PVP, Pure DPS, Tank(well even off-tank can be pushing it for raids ;) etc..

To avoid confusing pets or make it easier to remember which does what you might want to name your pet relevant to your final plans for it?

i.e

Tank called IronSide or Hulk and train it with huge armor/stamina etc.

Pure PVP/DPS might be called prowler (cat), Snap (Scorpion or Ravager perhaps)

Fire/Nature Res. trained might be called Smokey, Flame etc. etc.

Frost/Shadow Res. might be named Unstoppable(Force?), Shiver or something..

Soooo many possibles that could be good and work for you (those were just lame examples as could spend all day getting better ones ;) and not got the time :()

But having something relevant to your final plans for that pets training/role could really be handy when you have 3 pets stabled for keeps ;)
