Preface:
Not a hunter. Hunter alt (currently low enough level that these questions really won't apply for weeks at least). Spend 400g on pots a week for my priest, so spending another 50 for my hunter isn't an issue. However, I really have no idea what hunter mana consumption is like, since all my characters and the groups I pay most attention to in raids are the casters, so my first few questions may really be fairly worthless >.>
Would weaving AS directly after SS be a bad idea for any reason beyond mana limitations? With the new spell queue system (unless it doesn't work for hunters for some odd reason) would allow SS and AS to go off within hundreths of a second of each other, delaying the next autoshot, likewise, by mere hundreths of a second.
(On a side note, spells seem to queue about a quarter of a second before the previous one ends, according to my Quartz bar... anyone know if you must press the key another time AFTER arcane in this kind of scenario for it to go off, or if it queues it along with AS? And if you just let Autoshot go off on its own, without a key press, does that mess up the rotation macro by inserting an "extra" autoshot? Does the rotation macro which includes autoshot cancel and requeue autoshot after SS/AS/whatever, thereby slowing the cast down by a tiny amount?)
Along the same vein, if you've got the mana, wouldn't it still be a dps boost to clip your next autoshot by a small amount in order to weave in r1MS (or if you're really sitting in the mana, higher ranks?) You'd be extending your overall time between autoshots by as much as half a second, but also landing another full-damage shot in there as well.
Just a couple questions that have bugged me since hearing about BM Auto/SS-only and never-clip-your-shots mindsets.
