What should I name my *GHOST WOLF*?Follow

Well last night I just had to get one... No questions asked.

I had tried the night before but then sever shut down within 20 minutes for an hour, which did not help, but the practise was fine. Be prepared to try a few times and warn your Priest and Shammy friends that it may take some time. 10 minutes for a blood lust cool down can seem like an eternity!

Two quick tips though...

1. Is when waiting around and bored in between blood lust cool downs, feel free to kill the patrols and other mobs but try to avoid the spirit shifters. If you agro these they will summon ghost wolfs and this can be a problem later as found out the hard way. If there is a spirit wolf corpse on the ground nearby and you try to tame a live one, when you use your target and tame macro, you may find that you target and try and tame a dead wolf and not the freshly summoned one. This just left me with another 10 min cool down.

2. I also found the order of getting the Priest to mind control, Shammy to blood lust and use drums of battle, then switching aspects to get the gem proc, worked best for me. It can be all a little too hard to rely on you and your mates to get timing all perfectly synchronised in those few precious seconds. This way just left less room for error. The only thing in that you have to pray that your gem procs in those 30/40 secs whilst your buffs are still up.

That all said and done, Boo yeah, I got me a sexy puppy!
And as the thread goes What should I name my *GHOST WOLF*?

I am normally not too bad with naming my pets but this one was such a pain/pleasure to get and I want to get it just right... Any suggestions would be fantastic!

I have a few names lined up for my own Ghost Wolf the day I decide to go out and tame one.

1. Fenrir

In Norse mythology, Fenrir or Fenrisulfr is a gigantic wolf, the son of Loki and the giantess Angrboða. Fenrir is bound by the gods, but is ultimately destined to grow too large for his bonds and devour Odin during the course of Ragnarök. At that time he will have grown so large that his upper jaw touches the sky while his lower touches the earth when he gapes.

2. Lycaon

Thought to be the origin of the Werewolf myth, after being transformed into a wolf after devouring human flesh. An ancient Greek legend if memory serves.

3. Ainu

This is actually the name of a people. They believed that they were born from the union of a Wolflike creature and a Goddess. I was leaning towards this one because of the Ghost Wolf thing.

4. Asena

The legend of Asena is an old Turkic myth that tells of how the Turkic people were created. In Northern China a small Turkic village was raided by Chinese soldiers, but one small baby was left behind. An old she-wolf with a sky-blue mane named Asena found the baby and nursed him, then the she-wolf gave birth to half wolf, half human cubs therefore the Turkic people were born. Also in Turkic mythology it is believed that a gray wolf showed the Turks the way out of their legendary homeland Ergenekon, which allowed them to spread and conquer their neighbours.

5. Romulus or Remus.

Most people should know this story. Old Roman "genesis" myth in which they were cared for and raised by a shewolf named Lupa. That is just the latin name for Shewolf, and it didn't really strike a chord with me. However, some might find Lupa to be a good name.

6. Goldeneyes

The reason for this lies in the Wheel of Time series, but I am doubting this, because... well, it's eyes ain't golden, are they?

7. Mist

I just thought this would fit a Ghost Wolf perfectly.

8. Banshee

Well, they do howl, don't they? Ghost wolf, howling? Banshee...

Anyway, I got a few others as well lined up. But this should at least provide you with a few options. I just hope you aren't on my server, stealin' my names, hehe.

Thanks North, love the suggestions, Asena in particular. I think I was sold with the sky-blue mane. I have always researched the names for my pets as well, I really want them to mean something.

I also tamed a beautiful owl, the one with the fiery orange and yellow feathers. She was only obtainable only from Sethek Halls and it was a fair amount of trouble to get her as well. I wanted a name that resembled her and ended up naming her Anka.

ANKA

In the West culture, Anka Bird is known as Phoenix. In ancient Egypt and archaic era, it was a legendary bird about worshipping the Sun. In Egyptian culture, Anka is as big as an eagle. It has got red and golden feathers and a nice voice. In each period of the world, there was only one Anka bird and this Anka lived for a long time.

I doubt your on my sever, I'm on an Australian one, but I think I’m still going to pinch Asena.

Cheers.

Actually no. They have the animation, but the ghosts don't make an audible howl.

For what it's worth, I named mine after my next-door neighbour's white German Shepherd, Spirit.

Also, some good news from the O-boards. Blizzard will not be taking these away from us.
