So today I switched to AR/Prep. I had no real maces to use so I just bought two that I could find off the AH for the time being. One of them literally is a piece of wood with a nail in it.
I was originally going to just do BGs with it and switch back to step for the arena because of my poor weapon choices. Then my 2v2 partner said to just "roll with it" and do some 2v2 with my awesome board-with-nail-in-it. I said alright, but knew that we'd more than likely get absolutely devastated.
We went 4-0. One of the teams we faced was a Rival Ranked pally/war team as well.
I don't know how much of it was the new spec and how much was that my priest got a chance to watch a holy priest pvp in 2v2. I think it's actually a combination of both.
So, I can't wait to see how this spec plays out when you actually have two real weapons (no board-with-nail-in-it). Although I must say, it's hilarious (and frustrating) beating teams that would have previously killed us with a bad *** and cool sharp dagger and instead die to us when I use a board-with-nail-in-it.

As what, ShS? Unless you spec'd into improve stealth seeing, I really see no way you should.

I like imp stealth detection. The 4% chance to dodge spells/ranged attacks is nothing to sneeze at either.
However, I agree that a rogue with double ARs and mace stuns should beat a ShS rogue 1v1 the majority of the time.

and i dont just duel, i solo defend in my favorite bg (basin @#%^ers, love it) and i world pvp my heart out
its pretty useful for arena so far, but i gotta see what the future holds for it at high ratings
and in a 1 match with all cd's im about 50-50 with mace ar/prep
but series when they dont get prep twin ar's every fight it holds nothing
i know i know, arena is where the real pvp is at
but 1v1 is where it shoulda stayed ^_-
and its my 15$ bucks a month, so if ya dont agree... guess wut? dun care <33

OMG I love riposte. Combat has so many nifty things I never tried before that I was really missing out on.
For instance:
Blade Flurry: I KILLED a rogue with this and AR up when I was targetting his priest (before I killed the priest even!)
Improved Kick: I never knew the silence applied from just kicking, I thought you ahd to interrupt a spell for it to go. That makes kick absolutely amazing.
Riposte: A 150% weapon damage attack that costs TEN ENERGY and disarms??
Adrenaline Rush: What the hell, with this up you absolutely pulverize people.
It's at this point in my life that I realize that me whining about daggers sucking in pvp was like if I was a warrior and I whined arms wasn't a good pvp spec. There's a simple way around that: SPEC MS!
If you hear a loud thudding sound, that's me successfully going back in time pounding some sense into my former self.

to echo what KT said, its very like youre preaching to the choir.
i can think of no less than a dozen instances where many other rogues mentioned the strengths and weaknesses of riposte, no to mention combat as a tree. no offense meant, but it does give me a chuckle.
