I've gone through the pre-raid gearlist trying to get ready for Kara. I'm down to two remaining greens, and everything else is enchanted up.

My guild wants to take our first stab at Nalorakk this weekend. They said I was free to sign up, but I don't want to drag the group down. If I go in my current gear, will I be able carry my weight?

Adiora

Thanks all :)

Hmm... I'm in all blues with a few epics, and my guild turned me down for Zul'Aman. I've also heard from a few people that you really need kara gear to do alright in there.

But then again, I've seen hunters in part greens, part shaman gear running around in a few pieces from kara.

If your guild is willing to take you along, I'd say go for it. They could take a hunter that they trust but has sub-par gear, or they could take an epic'ed-out hunter that they don't know and could possibly be a crappy hunter (I've seen them).

If I were you I would respec 41/20 though, and smack a quick shoulder enchant on as well as a LW patch for +8 stamina on your boots (the armor kit wont cost you more then 3g or so, so its a shame not to use it.)
Because that you will need for that especially the respec, because mortal shots makes a BIG difference in dps, and so does GftT (more petattacks > more crits > more FI > more dps from group.) as well as Imp. AotH (wich was calculated to be a ~6%dps increase i believe)
And things like Thick hide and Catlike reflexes dont do anything for you in a raid.

Your Health is low, and your Hit Rating is low. The Stalker's Helm and the Felstalker BP could be gemmed better. Other than that you seem ok.

You'd be "more ok" if you had some Kara gear to boost you up, especially since you can't make the Ebon Netherscale set which is Kara equivalent gear. But if they're willing to take you along you should go for the experience at least.

Bring Health food and mana oils. :)

Okidoke, I respec'd to the 41/20 BM/MM build, and I got the shoulder and foot enchants. I was waiting to get all blue gems until I had all blue gear and knew which stats I needed to boost. I told my guild what you all told me, and said I'd only ask for a slot if no one else wanted to fill it.

Also, I have +hit, +ap, +agi, and +stam food. Any recommendations on which I should eat?

Thanks again for all the feedback, and wish me luck! :)

Just not to create a new topic:

http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Alonsus&n=Pokrak

This is my toon, frozen for nearly three months, but I'm coming back REALLY soon - my current aim is Kara key and the Kara itself.
I see that my: gun, axe, boots, shoulders and back are not on Aethien's pre-raid gearlist, but I already have the epic gloves and have the contact and everything except primals to get my hands on Storm Helm and Thick Netherscale Breastplate.
I also have the quest for Terrok's Quill if my Shadowlabs run fails to give me the Sonic Spear, as well as the quest for the rifle taken from the STV (so, the gun will probably be replaced soon).
With this in mind - what should I change ASAP, what of the current gear is worth enchanting with the high-end enchants (I have plenty of dusts and essences, missing the shards, mostly...) and generaly - am I ready for a big-bang comeback?

The hit food is the best bet if you aren't capped, agi or AP if you are (agi over AP if you'll have a third paladin for Kings, though Might and perhaps wisdom are priority).

I'll edit this for watman when armoury is working again >.>

Well, in the end it didn't matter. I offered to be on standby, and didn't get a slot. Then, the guild (who did an amazing job at Kara on their first try two weeks ago) was absolutely squished.

So, apparently, we all need some more Kara gear :).

Yeah, with only two weeks worth of Kara drops in the entire Guild popping into ZA is really only going to be for curiosity's sake. You'll not be able to take down the first Boss. That's not a commentary on anyone's skill, it's a pure gear issue.

Kings > Wisdom, always.

For straight dps, sure kings is better; I'd see a 20dps improvement. However given where the OP is in content, its fair to assume that chugging pots on every cooldown isn't appealing. Again for my gear, Wisdom means another 20 seconds before I go OOM from full. As I don't have any idea on how long TBC raid encounters last, and therefore don't know how helpful this is, I did add the caveat.

I'd suggest picking up the rest of the Felstalker set. The bracers shouldn't be too hard to find since they're one of the last 'grinding' recipes needed to cap 375. Keep checking your AH. And once your find those, pst the maker and see about making the belt (or ask whomever made your chestplate). Be prepared to farm/buy 10 primal airs for the two, but they're worth it.
