Can anyone tell me why it is maces have the 5%crit on top of the stun effect? wouldn't that make maces superior to swords? I mean sure u get an extra swing here and there but most mobs throughout an instance are stunable up to bosses making them miss a swing or disrupting a cast. For me I'm spec'd cmbt/sub and I'm already missing the 5% crit from assination so wouldn't it be smart to get that crit back through maces? Just some thoughts to throw out there :)

5% crit damage.

It helps when you turn your brain on.

ok ok so i read it wrong none the less it is another ability (which is still a good one) on top of the 6% stun and I think that I brought up a valid point with being able to stun mobs for better surviability. So back to what the discusion was, what is better maces or swords I'm talkin an overall type thing not which ones better for pvp and the other for pve. I want the most bang for my buck!

Well... they are pretty equal. Swords is better in PVE but Maces are better for PVP. So if you want a middle of the road... go Fists? They all work in every setting, just some have better perks.

Lol everyone I ask this starts off saying the same thing they're pretty equal but I want to be sold on the whole idea swords is for pve and maces if for pvp. I am really trying to figure out what makes them the best for what everone seems to think they're good for. I can understand in the long run swords will maybe eventually dish more damge out on bosses but maces will definitly get that 5% bonus on crit swings more often than the 5% for extra attack.

5% to get an extra attack. This can range from what, 300-900 or so.

5% on a crit of say, 1500(ss) is what, 75 damage? Now you will get more of that, but remember you need 5-10 to even make up for one extra attack on sword. That is why sword is better for PVE, but in the end they come out pretty equal.

Maces are for PVP. Stun is win in PVP, and there is no other choice. Can you do very very well not using Maces? Yes.

Alright I think I'm on the same page with you and everything thus far is appreciated. Now for a more noobish question in pvp or pve if a target is stunned their parry/dodge doesn't work right potentially getting more dmg in? Also (more of a statement than anything) w/ a 3 sec stun you would get an attack off when they cant. So instead of w/ swords getting you an additional attack, w/ maces you're sorta taking away one of there's keeping the gap of dmg the same either spec u go
