So I kept thinking I was going to get the Mercy Glad Slicer come next week (as it would be a humongouse DPS upgrade from this terrible blue I've been carrying around). Due to some persuasion though, I've decided on getting the Mercy Glad Pummeler. This may come as a shock to many, as if you'll remember I said I'd quit the game long before I used a mace. Well... lo and behold, come next Tuesday I'll be using a mace. The logic behind this is that:

1.) Pummeler has practically the same DPS as the Slicer and the higher top end makes for higher hemo hits.

2.) If Shadowstep with an epic weapon isn't what I hoped it would be (which I don't see why it wouldn't, I already love it with a blue one), then I can easily switch into AR/Prep or combat maces without having to waste more arena points on a weapon swap (maces work for hemo but swords don't work for ar/prep.)

Tyr, Myteddy, Rp, Mongoose, Theo, etc... commence "I told you so's".

Not so much "I told you so" as a "Finally you pulled your head out of your *** and are doing things that don't hinder you...".

Right now I'm using my old mercy glad dagger. I'll be replacing it with the season 2 OH mace after I replace the MH. I had to get SOME utility out of the dagger :/

Truth...

How is this for a ar/prep build? I really believe I'll end up switching to that any way, the burn down potential is absolutely amazing. I've never had blade flurry or adrenaline rush, I'd imagine having both of those up with Slice n Dice, spamming hemo then using prep to do it all again would easily turn any class into jello.

Better IMO

Get Ghostly Strike. No reason not to. It also helps your evasions.

The other thing I switched was 2 from Camoflauge to Sleight of Hand. You don't spend a tremendous time in stealth, and the benefit you gain from 2% crit reduction is better than 15seconds worth of use in stealth.

K, never actually used ghostly strike either. I plan on switching to this build once I get an offhand mace just to see how it performs. Seems like a definite winner for arena. Thanks teddy.

Maybe i have badluck, or maybe my opponents are always looking for it, but i always get taken out of the fight when i blow all my sh*t like that. infuriates me tbh.

Its like the clouds part, rain stops, sun shines down... then gods hand comes through the clouds and slaps you in the face.

Even so, it seems to lose the mobility of shadowstep for super DPS potential. Definitely would boost my 2v2 performance substantially, and probably my 3v3 as well.

To sum it up...

Gain: Super DPS, Mace Stun, Riposte.
Lose: Cheat Death, Shadowstep.

It's a hard trade, which is why I'm interested in seeing how it will work out. They're both pretty solid builds.

For ease of use with Ghostly strike, I use a /castrandom macro for it and hemo.

Why not get S1 maces and use the arena points for S3 armor?

Let us know how it works out for you Shao. I'm shadowstep now, and while it's fun I'm fairly convinced I'll end up AR/Prep at some point.

At least he's not getting people rolling alts on his server to specifically ask him questions and spam him while he's in arena.

My armor is already pretty decent. I want my weapons to be up to par with my armor, hence the weapon choice. I feel a 35 DPS increase will take me a lot farther than a slight DPS increase from armor will. I am however going to buy the season 1 offhand (saw it's only 9k honor wtf?) and then I'll start collecting arena pieces, starting with the pants.

umm same damage but costs 5 more energy? seperate key it, or sequence it with evasion? not a huge deal if its randomed with hemo, but i just dont like wasting the energy

Plus you wouldn't want your ghostly strike to go off on a caster and then be on CD when a melee comes up...

Wouldn't be a huge deal, but it would at least be annoying.

I use the castrandom macro and it works just fine. Even on a caster its nice to be at 40% dodge when the warrior charges or the rogue pops out of stealth and misses his opener.

btw the slicer and the pummeler are exactly the same. both are 285 top end and 91.2 dps.
