Hey all, just started a druid and wanted to ask whether first aid is worth taking? My main is a priest and even he has first aid (at least while he was shadow). My question is can druids use first aid in bear/cat form? If not it doesn't seem worth it to level up first aid when I could be selling/xferring the cloth to another toon for better use.

My on-the-record answer is that first aid is almost always worth it. It's fast, easy, and cheap to max out, and you never know when it'll come in handy. Paired with any kind of stun, root, etc. that will take the mob out of commission for a couple of seconds, a bandage can be a lifesaver. I gouge + bandage all the time to save my rogue's butt - it's almost like playing a druid and being able to pop out and heal, except not as good, cause a rogue, really, is a gimped druid, but I digress.

Always unable to take my own best advice, I never leveled it up on my druid. I've never missed it (druids have plenty of panic buttons) and I'm greedy when it comes to selling cloth.

I felt the same way, i can heal why do i need first aid?, but then i found on some nasty fights as a feral that after popping out to heal a couple times, my mana pool was gone so no more heals.

You cant use bandages in cat/bear form, but if you decide to respec balance or resto you will use bandages alot more- also some raiding mods use a heavy netherweave bandage to determine if you are too close to people (strange i know, but its true lol)

I would recomend leveling up you first aid as you level, or youll be stuck having to grind/buy cloth later on and run all over azeroth just to do the training...like i did lol.

Ditto. First Aid = Goodness.

I didn't see the light about first aid until my 40s, and powerleveling it at that point wasn't too bad. You won't need to use it as much as a non-healing class but any little trick at your disposal can help, even though you can't use bandages in feral forms.

If you're resto your job is to heal, baby, heal. The mana-free healing of a bandage when it's convenient saves valuable mana for situations when you need to heal somebody 20 yards away, or when you're getting hit and can't channel a bandage.

If you're feral you won't have much mana, so bandages preserve your mana for shifting and emergency heals. Balancers have the mana, but their job is to convert it into DPS so bandages can keep you from draining the tank on heals.

You'll usually be getting more cloth than you need to level and keep 1 stack of your highest-level bandages full. Just make sure you train up on the next level bandage as soon as you hit the skill requirement so you're not wasting cloth that could be spent leveling.

When you are grinding on mobs for a quest, it saves a lot of mana being able to bandage rather than heal and often means not having to drink at all (Instead of having to heal every few mobs and drinking every 10-15), and it costs nothing. You usually end up with more cloth than you can use anyway.

We have a requirement in our raids for everyone to have 375 FA and carry a stack of bandages. If there is a short break in a fight (eg. between phases in nightbane, during Moroes vanish etc) when healers can pop a bandage on themselves and still be regen-ing valuable mana. As a tank it isn't that useful, but as DPS, you may not really need it, but your healers will certainly be thankful you saving some of their mana.

Not that this needs anymore reenforcement considering the number of responses on it already, but I agree ALWAYS take 1st aid.
