Can anyone help me with building statsFollow

#1 Nov 28 2007 at 4:43 AM Rating: Default

My rogue is 62 atm, and I am completely lost with what stats I should be focusing on as I advance my gear.

I'm combat swords with a focus mainly on pve>raids. So should I be stacking hit,ap, or crit? I tried reading the hit maths but it confused the hell out of me, seems more complicated then spell hit which i understand.

I,m most concerned about which stats I should be focusing on for lvling up to 70 i suppose, but it would be good to know how much ap/crit/hit i should have for karazhan say. Also I do some pvp as well and i was wondering how much hit i need for that at 70.

A link to a site which goes into this stuff in detail would be awesome, or any advice you have,
cheers

it just gets a little old to see post after post of people flamming others because they didnt look before they posted.

You know what else gets a little old? Answering the same question over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over because those same numbnuts didn't read the thread that's stickied right at the top of the forum.

Stick around a few months and you'll see exactly what I mean.

Now i understand!

I read the stickied rogue guide here, it doesn't have anything on stat builds, only talent builds.
I also tried on wowwiki and looked through the rogue stick on the oboards and could'nt find what i was looking for..
I don't like making posts its only as a last resort :>

Quit with the stickies line and lend some info.

i got at least 400 posts of answering the same hemo questions, totalling 2.3 hemo and pre-bc hemo

thats just 1 mechanic of the rogue thang

it gets old, and i rarely post answers i know ive said before anymore

the stickys are helpful, if you truthfully cant understand the stickys (at least fi you cant understand the majority of em) then the answers we'd supply arent gonna help much further

== as for your question, koast ==

PVE ROGUE: hit > ap > agi > crit = stam

http://www.shadowpanther.net

has all the rogue gear in the game, check out the lists... not 100% perfect but a very easy rule of thumb way of figuring whats upgrades or whats not

At that level, Hit > AP > Crit.

Of course, be reasonable about your choices. If you have the option between two pieces of gear, one with +4 hit, and one with +50 AP, the AP gear is obviously the bigger upgrade to your overall DPS.

That should allow you to fine tune your gear choices with better accuracy. Although it's not 100% precise, it's still better than just using Shadowpanther or something similar.

While I am very happy every time somebody mentions the DPS calculator, it will not help out OP becase he is using gear too low level to be included in it.

The easy (and of course not very exact) way I was comparing gear was based on the following relations:
1agi = 1hit = 2AP
1crit = 1.3AP (or possibly more for builds depending on crit, which I never used)
stamina - mostly ignored, unless it was really 5 to 1 ratio or more

(before any of the usual suspects jumps in with how +hit is important, let me tell you that the calculator is showing 2AP > 1agi > 1hit (marginally) for both unbuffed hemo and combat swords builds for me. Which is what most levelling builds are.)

Edit: The +hit (non)importance relies on having 5/5 precision. Otherwise all goes beyond easy formulas...

That's why you enter your own values. Huzzah!

I think you have too much confidence in your fellow rogues. :-)
Most of them run away screaming like little girls when I show them the spreadsheet. If I wanted them to actually insert new equipment pieces themselves, they would probably faint on the spot.
