Hello,

I have a 70 holy priest, but dont wanne go into a guild, because every time im in a raid im only overhealing or healing a target that half way my cast gets healed by like 2 other healers.
I know that there must be a addon for this problem? i have searched and searched but never found something about it ! :(

Can someone tell me if there is such a addon (and what its name is :P)?

Thnx in advance (and sorry for my english grammer for i am dutch :P)

Personally, I like grid. I show who has agro, renews, pw:shield, incoming heals, in a compact grid showing all parties.

I'm a button healer, so along with grid, I have my heals on the 1 to 6 keys. I click the person in grid and tap the appropriate heal action with my left hand.

Others like to mouse-click heal, and combine grid with clique to accomplish that.

A popular alternative to what I use is healbot, which is another click casting addon.

When I first entered AQ, I felt the same as you. Everybody else was healing so fast, I could hardly get anyone targeted. Keep practicing.

Use PoM as an opener on your tank if someone else hasn't thrown it. Throw renews around the raid as needed. Renews stack, so if 3 priests each put a renew ticking +700 on the tank, that would be +2100 per tick. Pretty cool.

You will be fine. You may want to use a damage meter (I use Violation) so that you can watch your amount healed increase while hopefully having your overheal numbers go down a bit.

*sigh*

Honestly, raid healing gives me a headache by the end of the first pull. So much going on! I don't do them very often at all.

I totally agree with everything Dadonox said about PoM and Renew.

I have XPerl Unit Frames as an Add On, and the last time I healed a raid, I thought it did a great job. You see grids of the party groups, and color changes indicate the party members status. It will show you who's shileded, who has a HoT, who is targeted by another healer, etc.

I've never tried grid or healbot, but x-perl works for me. Try them all out and see what works best for you. Hubby can't stand to look at my screen when we're playing ( you should hear him during a raid!) but I couldnt live without it! Everybody's different.

Good luck and happy healing!

I don't raid yet, but on my 3 healers I use healbot, which allows me to choose which heals correspond to which mouse button i want, it shows who has aggro, who has what heal on em. It also allows me to remove curses, diseases, magic (depending on which heal character I'm on)

I also have all my heals on hot buttons, so if im playing alone, or healing ppl not in a group I've got em all to hand.

Thnx all, gonne join some raids soon and will test all these mods out! :)
Hopefully this time ill enjoy the raiding with my priest.
Because that whas my main reason to play wow and healing gives ya a good feeling if you keep your group alive :)

Just like: Lady Wizarrdress said, "raid healing gives me a headache by the end of the first pull. So much going on!" hope this will reduce that problem :P

If you're trying to heal the tank, be sure you're not waiting for damage to throw off a heal. Start casting gheal, and about 1 second before it goes off, if the tank doesn't need a heal, cancel the spell and start it again. Reactively healing the tank is a sure way to a) never get a heal off or b) get the tank killed very quickly.

Also, Renew and PoM are very powerful. Try and keep them both on the tank as much as possible, unless you're doing the Clearcasting -> Inner Focus trick to get a large chunk of spirit regen (casting spells with either of those up doesn't put you back into the 5SR since they cost no mana, so chaining them allows a good amount of regen if needed).
