Awsome moment for all PriestsFollow

Tonight in a instance when all the dust settled, everyone thought my priest was the bomb.

In Maradon (spelling?) tonight we were at the pool where a centaur boss and a bunch of trees are all huddled up. We were down to 4 people after a druid dipped but decided what the hell and gave it a go with two warriors and a mage and myself (highest in group at level 52). The second we pulled, one of the warriors DC'ed.

The tank was doing all he could but he had a boss and 6 other tree mobs on him. I bubble him and throw off a big heal, sending trees to me, and mage responds with a massive nuking to save the priest.

Some trees go down, I fear two (I know i know, fear in a instance!?!) that were on me as my fade was on cooldown, leaving boss who promptly kills mage despite my best efforts as punishment for that show of force on his beloved trees.

Trees come back to me as Im still repeatedly healing tank and I hit fade sending everything back to tank. At this point my mana is gone and I'm relying on my massive spirit and disc talents to give me all the mana I can get and hit off any heal I can as the tank hacks away.

He was so close to death and with so little mana I remember running up to him and hitting fear just to get them off of him a few seconds and he instantly kicks in with a first aid, as if on cue. As he finishes bandaging here they come on me...fade...back to tank.

I heal him with mana I have recovered, they come to me and beat me down to the lowest Ive ever seen my health (seriously) and I respond with desperate heal and bubble as tank continues hacking leaving only the boss. Once my bubble was down my fear was ready so there it went again and boss went to doing circles around the pool.

After what seemed like forever it was down to a boss almost dead, me out of mana, and a tank near death...I was so frantic, the dead mage was cheering us on, then it dawned on me "hey ******, use your inner focus". I completely forgot about my free spell! I tap that, hit greater heal, tank comes right back to awsome health and down goes boss.

The tank and mage cheer me on (kudos to the Dran warrior tank!)as I quickly sit and drink as if another boss would jump at me any second. I lean back and reflect on this long battle when the second warrior comes back from his DC and looks around and asked if we killed it already...

Haha what a nice job... Impressiv that the tank was able to do enough damage to take the boss and adds down, but also nice "panic-tactic" with the fear hehe...

Bravo! Those really are the moments that make it fun and memorable. Especially later when you get fully geared et al and the 5-mans begin to seem too easy, you will look forward to more of these "Oh-crap" moments where people get feared into other mobs and you know the fight is really on. Getting to really work the multiple heals, fears, fades, etc wakes you up ... and, yeah, that pat on the back from the group after those really feels nice too.

I'm not going to swap to Holy at 70. :)

Discipline Tree is really just undervalued; it's hardly a broken tree. While it can be improved, most trees can.

Yes and no. Disc remains viable healing until you get into Mag and ZA imo. If you have no intention of raiding beyond Kara/Gruul, or raiding at all, then Disc is great. Excellent at PvP, good at healing, incredible survivability (PS priest + SL/SL lock... I *hate* them! >.<). In ZA, Mag, and beyond, however, you simply don't have the raw healing power or efficiency to stand up to a full 10 minutes of healing. Not to mention there's several encounters where CoH is borderline overpowered (VR, Hex Lord, Al'ar and Solarian trash).
