Fighting castersFollow

So I've had a real problem with fighting players who were casters. They jump around me in circles casting spells and I only get a few clean hits off on them. The few times I've been able to hamstring and shield bash a caster I've managed to come out on top. But in many instances I've found myself turning around in circles trying to hit the bastards. I've killed every druid, pally and warrior I've ever squared off with but warlocks, shamans and mages are a different story. I know shield bash is my friend when fighting casters but very rarely do I get the chance to get close enough. What do I do?

Respec, get a big juicy 2h and then whack the casters. If you're using a sword and shield, GG unless they sux or have low HP. Duel your buddies and get tips from them too, if you can.

Fury stance?

Use intercept and pummel.

Casters are a pain to fight and most of the time, a warrior would loose. Pigeon's right. Switch to a 2-handed weapon and hope for the best. With a big Mortal Strike crit, you'll do enough damage to make them panic a little.

Hamstring is not useful against mages and druids but it's nice against priests and warlocks. Try to anticipate their next move and you should be able to get in a few clean hits. Pummel is nice but the cooldown is something you have to think about. Time them right and choose the correct spells to interrupt (this may be near impossible). If you miss Pummel, use Intimidating Shout it'll give you a chance to put in a swing and also Mortal Strike and hope they both crit.

Mortal Strike will be your best friend. Use it and keep it on cooldown. With a good crit chance and a big weapon, you'll manage to kill them or at least get them to retreat, which is what you should do too :P

Basically, fighting casters is extremely difficult and I tend not to engage them solo. Most of the time, luck counts because 3 - 4 big crits from a good 2-handed weapon will be enough to bring them down to 20% hp, this is your cue to start spamming execute, if they don't burn you down first ;)

Oh and if you have 3 points in Tactical Mastery, learn to stance dance. Each stance has a use in certain situations. Learn them, master them and above all, pick your fights and don't go charging the first caster you see :) Evaluate the situation, then go in.

Should be in Beserker Stance at least 80% of the time in PvP :) I only stay in Battle Stance when fighting rogues for Overpower or when I'm nearing the scene of the fighting so that I can use charge.

Hope that helps.

If you are either arms or fury spec piercing howl is your friend, it slows them down enough to where you can easily hit them with hamstring instead and go about killing in the normal fasion.

Sounds like I have to rely alot on luck then. It seems that casters know this and 98% of the time I get challenged its by a caster. Every paladin, druid and warrior thats gone toe to toe with me has lost. With rogues its about 50/50. Never fought a priest but warlocks, mages and shamans always beat me. BTw I'm curious as to if I'm up to spec. I'm at lvl 48, my armor is at 4700, attack power at 531, and HP is at 3000. My magic resistance is very poor however.
