Winter's Chill/ BlizzardFollow

If I have 5 points into Winter's Chill, and cast blizzard on a mob and they get hit with multiple waves does each wave cause a winter's chill debuff or does it only cause the first one.

Blizzard cannot apply Winter's Chill on a target.

Blizzard cannot crit, so it really doesn't matter much. Maybe a bit less crittage on your CoC if you're AoE grinding, but no biggie, really.

Imp blizzard can proc Frostbite, correct? I am hoping for some nice AoE grinding with my mage I am leveling, with Icy Vein's. Blizzard being hasted and improved chance of mobs getting frozen means pretty good way to stand a group of mobs still and dish out some powerful damage.

Yes, I do believe Blizzard will proc Frostbit on some mobs.

My understanding is that Frostbite will separate your mobs if you are trying to AoE. The reason is that only some mobs may be frozen (due to Frostbit procs), so the rest will move. That is not favorable during AoE since it is critical to keep the mobs as tightly packed as possible.

it doesn't freeze all of the mobs though while you are AoEing, which thus, as YMark stated is actually bad for AoEing.

My strategy after the 2.3.2 patch is to have 3 points in imp blizzard, permafrost, and frostbite, and have Icy Veins. Gather up my group of mobs. Get them nice and close together. Frost Nova, run to max blizzard distance, pop Icy Veins, and then lay down the blizzard. I figure with 40% chances to freeze, 75%slow if not and the wave hitting ever 0.8 seconds the mobs should move too much. This is all speculation though.

I should really jump on PTR copy my mage over. Respec frost and see how it works out. It is all theory, who knows how well it will work. I wonder if Ice Floes or any other talent will reduce the cool down on Icy Veins.
