I will be hitting level 50 soon on my druid alt and I was just curious about build ideas to get to mangle. I absolutely love tanking, so I was thinking about something like this. Thanks for the help.

IMO id take those points out of SoF and fill out Shredding Attacks and Predatory Instincts. SoF may seem strong, but at level 50 I just dont believe it scales all that well with your current gearing and stats.

You should also take into account that 3% reduced chance to be crit is more of an endgame talent, when you are sitting in Heavy Clefthoof and trying to become crit immune for Kara and beyond. At level 50 it just doesn't seem worth the 3 points.

Also note, that with shredding attacks you can open every battle (while solo) with a pounce -> mangle -> shred = MOB in severe pain before he ever comes out of the stun. You did say you enjoy tanking but I managed to tank just fine all the way to 70 w/o SoF. Anyways, happy hunting!

I agree.
Although I believe the previous poster was confused between Shredding Attacks and Savage Fury, it's true that maxing SF would help more to level than SotF.

SotF could be nice if you tank much, but unless you tackle on higher level mobs, you won't be crit'd a lot anyway.

In my own leveling build, I take 1/3 SotF only to move to the next tier of talents. Come end game, I'll respec and take 3/3, of course.

But even with the original build posted, it'll let you level fast enough that you won't see a big difference.

No I think I'm going to stand by what I posted. Savage Fury adds 20% dmg to your Mangle, Claw, Rake. I would much rather have my Shred only cost 42 energy than the 20% bonus first. Obviously I took both talents as I progressed but IMO Shredding Attacks > Savage Fury. The 20% bonus to mangle will not be on par with the 1 extra shred you'll be able to get in before the MOB releases from the stun.

No, no! Don't get me wrong. Shredding Attack is an important talent for an easy damage boost and soloing enhancement.

What I meant to say is that the original build posted already had 2/2 Shredding Attacks but only 1/2 Savage Fury. So your suggestion of maxing Shredding Attacks was moot. Thus why I thought you meant to say max Savage Fury.

Cause yeah, Shredding Attacks >> Savage Fury.

I like more this build (my own):
http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/druid/talents.html?00000000000000000000051320113132210500000005500001000000000000

I like to powershift, I like the plus 10%, I like the increased AP reduction from Demoralizing and I like clearcast. As I don't group much, I can still go without LoP (will get it next lvl, though) and, while questing, I don't think mangle is so damn required (at least yet). I'm pretty sure my build is not the best for instances or pvp, but for quests and grind, I think it is.

That looks like a good build and all, but I am looking for a mangle build so I can build up my tanking skills for end game.

Wouldn't Thick Hide be better than SotF at those levels, for a bear tanking build?

With only a couple of levels left to go, I think I am going to go with this build. I will mainly be tanking and doing the occasional quest, and this will still be viable. I will lose furor, but I think the next 5 points will go there.

I think that maybe you should try to grab at least 1 point on Feral Agression, since you are mainly tanking. Increase on Demoralizing Roar, against bosses or giants for example, is really important, IMO.
