Hey guys,

I was considering switching over to destruction. I never raid, though I may in time (Kara possible soon with my guild)... So, I mainly do Battlegrounds, and Arena. I am currently Sl/SL spec'd, and like the survivability of the spec, but seek to gain more burst damage. Burst damage I like, and probably would enjoy more from a destruction spec, than the one I currently play with.

If anyone here has some experience with a destruction spec, in a PvP setting, would you be so kind to suggest a build favoring the Destructive ways? I read a thread a few minutes ago, of some of you guys talking about a build (0/21/40) and was curious about that... Though, by reading, it seems like its geared toward raiding?

I am at about 10% base crit atm, about 10,700 Health unbuffed, and 960 shadow spell damage self buffed with fel Armor... I will gain two pieces of season one gear later on, through honor in addition.

Any suggestions, etc, would be greatly appreciated!

you will lack massive amounts of surviveability specced as 0/21/40 which is actually considdered to be a raiding build. If you can´t help it and you want to go destro try 0/7/44. With 0/21/40 specc you should definitly not do arena, it can be fun doing it in ab/wsg and av if you can stand behind others and just nuke the enemies from afar without you actually joining the combat.

0/21/40 is a pure pve spec. it's got 0 pvp viability and you'll loose to everyone as it. tbh if you want to do your best in pve and pvp, you need to repec everytime you do 1 or the other. sl/sl is always good for pvp and 0/21/40 is very good for pve, but you need very good stats. i.e, 8k hp and mana before buffs. 20% crit rate before devestation, 170+ hit rate. for pve if you don't have these stats you're better off going something like 41/0/20

If ur not planning on raiding alot dnt specc destro.

Wiv destro u need to cats alot and cnt run around as much.
But if u insist specc searing pain and den just run around criting half of the casts.
U could also specc demonic tactics/ruin for survivability and crit.
BUt wiv dat specc u would lose backlash, soul leach and the last thing in destro(aoe stun cnt remeber its name.
Dats why i connsider demo tacs/ruin an pve specc.

I would recomend carrying on wiv sl/sl in pvp or start pve and drop pvp if u wanna do destro.
And u need alot more dan 10% crit.
If u get 15% and den 10% from specc. U will have 25% which is ok.
Try get da new pvp trinnket with 40+ crit ratin adds up to 2% and u get 1700 heal as use from trinket.

7/7/47 is a pretty good pvp dest spec, so's 19/0/42 but generaly. dest isn't very good for pvp anymore due to resiliance (unless you're pushing a rediculous high amount +damage, in which case you'll hit hard regardless of if you crit, so still allowing for alright burst)

gear ways you wouldn't stand a chance as dest from those stats you linked, but if you want some burst why not spec something like 41/9/11 so at least you have shadowburn and the ability to cast a faster shadowbolt. also whenever you gain a nightfall proc you could benefit a bit more IF it crits due to Improved shadowbolt, which'll also increase your dot damage.

finally the reason i say this spec is because he has good pvp and pve viability, so saving you on respec costs everytimes you want to do either.

Well I re-spec'd to Destruction regardless of being ill-equiped for it currently. I've started to get pieces of the felweave Gladiator set, to get more + Spell Crit. I am only at 20.58 % crit, and 800 + Spell damage buffed, but I'm working on it. Thus far, I enjoy destruction more than any other spec (I've nearly tried them all too). It's not my minion dealing the dps, it's not Dot, Dot, Dot, Kite, and survive. . . It's purely pouring out the damage, and it definatly is fun to me!

Even with the Low-Crit rating, I still am competitive in one on one fights. Warriors for instance, usually stomped me 9/10 times, and now while they still defeat me often, I feel more competitive with them. I just enjoy the fire animations, in addition to the way damage is done as destruction.

Anyway, thank you all for the informative posts! I will be honor grinding all weekend, to get more + Crit gladiator pieces to replace the dreadweave gladiator stuff I mostly have (Have one piece of felweave).

The Bravest. I should have been a Warrior. I am a Warlock with a Warriors heart, to charge into battle (ill-equiped or not)!!!
