Ah, I see what you mean, though actually the extra stats only really applies to PvE staves.
S3 staff - 62sta, 29res, 247dmg
Dagger + offhand - 61-65sta, 41-45res, 275-282dmg
The only thing the staff really offers is crit rating and a cheaper overall cost, though stacking crit rating isn't exactly the best thing to do in PvP.

lol good point on pvp, i myself am considering dropping some spell crit for damage in my pvp gear.

wow that is a big difference in pvp arena stats lol was just looking at it what a rip off lol, but I really like the season 3 staff graphic lol.

hmm, I'm just returning after a 2 month hiatus and noticed my talent points have reset. What changed did the past 2 patched do to elemental shammies? I'm not sure what kind of build to do now.

lightning overlord became a need for viable DPS, less mana cost, less damage, less threat, and elemental focus now has a 40% mana reduction to the next two spells. I don't think i missed anything but the builds here are patch 2.3 approved.

might be off topic.. but this is a elemental thread.. anyone else really pissed about that new meta gem?

exactly 2blue gems.. wtf would they do this? i plan to use quite a lot of glowing nightseyes and if i want that meta gem i cant anymore.

I think I read somewhere that this was a mistake, and they are going to change it in a future patch to "requires at least 2 blue gems". I forget where I read it though ....
