Someone rated Oak to default - I fixed that.

As far as +hit goes I have measle 60ish too, well without scryers trinket and I am happily jumping around shooting SBs all the time. Well since I dont deal with raid bosses I dont really have "miss" messages.

I get resists in BG all the time on SBs. And on Corr. I assume resilience is high on those I'm targetting. Does +hit make a diff in there?

Either way, I gotta do something about it.

spellhitcap is 202. and before around 130 +spellhit in a raidenviroment you there is no better way to increase your dmg.
=( was hoping for a rating up, but hey i usually get up to decent again^^ thats my karmacap^^
vs players of equal lvl you need +4% hit. and abit of spellpenetration to work around mark of the wild if it is up on your opponent.

I believe it's penetration that takes care of resilience in PVP, but i'm not a big PVP fan so don't know much about it.

I do know that a lvl 70 in BGs only needs 40 spell hit to get the max on all the other players due to the fact that they only have a 4% chance to resist.

Ah, penetration, ok. I have 10! From gems...on my non-PvP gear. *****

Oh bugger all this theorycraft. I'm gonna PvP and PvE in my Dreadweave epic set and sod anyone who bothers me about it. :oP

*bother*bother* with dreadweave you have a really small manapool^^

Is that an issue when I don't raid?

Also - be helpful? Alternatives?

Dreadweave is amazing for affliction PVP.

And spell penetration has nothing to do with resilience, but its a 1:1 tradeoff against resist gear. Say your opponent is wearing 20 shadow resist, you have 20 spell penetration, your penetration negates their magic resist. Spell pen is a pretty worthless stat unless you go up against SR stacking teams, or fight alot of felhunters.

I don't understand why people keep voting you down Oak. You must really have p!ssed off someone on these forums.

The information you give is always valid and useful so people - grow up and only use those arrows (especially the red one) when necessary.

Rate up Oak. Even managed to get you to good :D

If his overall score is between two numbers, his posts will always start at default. He may not have received a single rate down in this thread, tbh. Though I'd have to see a post he had just made to tell you if he's in that bracket. The same goes for many "Scholars". They can be at a point where their posts start at "Good".

It kinda amazes me just how much of a mystery the rating system here seems to be to folks.

I get that Poldaran.

But he was at one stage at decent and then went down to default again so I assume that someone was doing some rate downs.

No, its not like that in this case. His posts were rated as decent and suddenly one of them went to default, I noticed that and rated him up back to decent.

I think that it would be handy if we actually saw who is rating us - I am sure it will prevent lot of malicious rate downs for no reason but not liking someone personally.

Hi everyone,

long time lurker, first time poster ;) I really enjoy this thread, aswell as the one on the warlocks den. After I had the FG for some arena & pvp issues (6 months ago) I respecced affliction for further raiding progress (gruul, maggy, SSC/Tk) and because of the fact that I'm very used to affliction. Then I came over the post (raiding with FG) on the warlocks den and this one and thought - let's give it a try - mainly because I was bored of affliction.

Here is my armory link: (well I think I may have pvp gear on)
http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xm...kir&n=theeffect

For bosses I got the following stats: (self buffed)
- 199 +spell hit
- 1400 + shadow dmg
- 17,5% crit
- 11 k HP
- 8 k mana

I have no T5 set bonus yet (got the shoulders from VR)
I have no SP in my group (normally we raid with 2 SP's, but they are split to a healer and one mage group)
We are 1/6 SSC & 1/4 TK

Now to my question:
We currently try the lurker below and my FG should be immune to all his abilities. I place my FG behind him and put him on stay (yes, I watched your video oaken and more than just once ;). But I had the problem that my FG took dmg (ok in the first fight I had soul link on for extra dmg boost). On the 2nd attempt I was smarter and had no soullink on, but he took dmg from something. I doubt it was the water, because he didnt take dmg before the fight and he didnt move during the fight as long as I saw it correctly. What can this be? I know this is complete uninteressting if you have T5 set bonus or a SP in your group, but I dont have this comfort right now. Any suggestions?

Thx so much and keep this up!!

Ye olde necroposter^^

Yes, i was wrong! The Whirl(hits everyone in meele-range for about 4-5k dmg and knocks them back abit) actually does affect the Felguard.

In my humble opinion SP belong definitly into the Warlock group, there is
no better supporting class i think.

Mages have evocation, managems and generally alot better manaefficiency.

He will also take damage from the Adds that spawn in the Phase where the
Lurker submerges. The Coilfang Ambushers do a multishot which can hit your
Felguard and the Coilfang Guardians do some nasty cleaving, which can be easylie
avoided with right placement and good cc.

I am sorry that i misinformed you in the Lurkervideo.

wow thats a fast reply ;)Well np for the missinformation thingy, I really enjoy the videos and the threads, but yesterday night I thought I would be insane by seeing my FG going dead by every attempt until the first submerge. I never had the problem from the adds, because he already was dead by this time.

Thx for the information, now I think I cant use him on the boss until I have a SP in my group (or T5 set bonus) - maybe I just use him on my Island to intercept and nuke down the 2 adds, because resummoning and replacing takes too much dps time.

On the 4th attempt I just used my imp, because I was bored by the whole resummoning and did well (not uber dps, but ok) and actually dps is not our main problem - coordination it is ;).

Got 2nd on the meter last night, although I had major troubles during the encounter, beaten by our top mage with SP & Shami in his group. The dgm on trash was really devastating - I got away from the raid by 3% - just amazing.

Well and I think I should start the discussion about locks and SP's to the same group - main problem here is that our guild is used to raid with 3 Affli locks (yeah I know, not much synergy ...) and therefore it was not a big deal until with the SP's now.

Again a big thx!!

On a side note, got my fire ress gear done and just waiting for Leo to be tanked by me ;))
