Instance Healing while maintaining soloing potentialFollow

#1 Nov 26 2007 at 8:13 PM Rating: Decent
My first ever post and I hope the links work, be gentile :P I've spent some time studying various sources including the sticky druid guide on this forum and I came up with a build that seems to be a strong balance (no pun intended) of soloing, healing, and even pvp survivability against ganks. Anyways here is what I have at 60 http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=0ZxhrsboZVEcp0qM0o; and here's what it will evolve into at 69 (ToL respec coming at 70) http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=0ZxhrsbboZVEcthqM0oh. I put everything I could into Healing Touch because without the bonuses to the HoT's, I assume that HT will be crucial. With an emphasis on the best early to mid feral talents, this should presumably get me by on the long grind to 70. Anyone care to offer some insight on anything I overlooked, or flat out tell me that this build won't work? Sadly I already did the respec, but I've respeced my main lock 4 times in the last month so I'm used to having to correct miscalculations :P

Well, the build will work, that's for sure. You could do 1-70 without ever using your talent points. Now, will it be fast? No, not really. Will you enjoy it? Up to you. I found that leveling my Pally 60-70 as Holy was tedious but it was easier to go straight with +SpellDmg/Heal gear and not bother with the kajilion different sets.

If you've leveled Feral up to now, I'd suggest you keep that set and update it with quest reward unless there's a definitely better Healing alternative.

Other than that, you'll be able to heal instances better than a pure Feral build. You'll have higher survivability and may even be able to do a few group quests by yourself. (Holy for my Pally allowed me to do just that)

One question though, why respec at 69 if you're gonna respec at 70 anyway?

Sry I guess my post was a little confusing. I'm 58 right now and I'm about to go to OL. The 1st link is what I will look like at 60, and the 2nd link is how that same build will evolve as I proceed to 69. Then at 70 I will be respecing to ToL.

Oh yeah, I see. Must've misread something, it was rather late.

It could work, but it means keeping at least a feral and a healing set up to date. In my oppinion you would be better off with a resto/balance spec, especially now that +heal items also grant a bit of spell damage. That way you may have a few items that can be used both when healing and dps'ing.

If you really like the feral role, then at least drop thick hide and grab brutal impact instead. With brutal impact, ferocity and shredding attacks, you can pounce-> mangle-> shred before to mob gets out of stun. That usually means it's on 50% before it even touches you. Thick hide is mostly usefull for tanking, and you build doesn't really seem like a tanking build. You will get better damage reduction from the stun + killing the mobs faster than from thick hide.

The only points I've put into resto so far is enough to get omen of clarity. Everything else went into feral. I can dps, tank, or heal any instance so far. Just make sure you have another set of gear with +int and +healing for when you have to heal.

I've been using this build to heal or tank or dps though the instances. I've so far healed up to bm. however I also cheat using elixrs and mana oil to buff my mana/5 and + healing we've yet to wipe at a point I did not die first.
all the gear I have is mainly quest loot + some instance drops.

perhaps your setup is ok but I'd either focus on pure healing +| balance or just take something like mine.
