I have been playing around with trying to find a good use for a fast ranged weapon build for a while, and specced BM just to try it, and stumbled across an interesting setup.
http://www.wowarmory.com/character-talents.xml?r=Aerie+Peak&n=Marcosuave

That is my talent tree, a little sloppy, but generally workable for playing around. I'm using the Wrathfire Hand Cannon from Shadow Labs, and since winning it, had tryed to find a workable build to use with it. Since FINALLY getting the Hourglass of the unraveller, I was ******** around and came up with this. It doesn't seem like much, but with improved Aspect of the Hawk, Ferocious inspiration, Thudering Skyfire Diamond, and Hourglass, I am experiencing some awesome dps spikes, and was looking for opinions on its Viability. Longer Fights seem to favor me, as rapid fire with my other two Haste buffs puts my attack speed at 0.76, and my autoshot dps at 639.7...

Trying to add Romulo's poison Vial, and thinking of switching to Don Santos Famous Hunting Rifle, for the additional proc, but this is all subject to some more testing. I just wanted some more opinions, as I am learning to CC without points dumped into Survival, and have been in a grey area between Damage meter updates(just downloaded).

efore anyone points out what Guide "A" or "B" says, I know. I am trying to capitalize on procs per minute vs Haste buffs, and it appears to be working, to one extent or another, just a question ofputting all the pieces together. So I would love some input from other players...

Get desolation gear, that gives you another proc. Good luck with that strategy, raiding my be a bit harder for you due to ammo consumption.

sounds cool, though i cant follow the link :(
Grab yourself a 24 slot ammo bag and keep grinding the gold to pay for those bullets.
Something different, and maybe even enjoyable! Stick with it and update the link so we can critique

Hmmm...your build looks like the cookie cutter build de-optimized to add some solo utility.

As far as DPS goes, the extra points on tiers 1 and 2 of BM, putting the last point in frenzy (frenzy's good, but not optimal to put 5 points in), the point in catlike reflexes, and the 2 points in hawk eye are NOT adding to your DPS. They do add solo survivability though, so I'm not saying it's bad.

Honestly I don't see why it's so "revolutional" since it pretty much has most of the basics. Although keep in mind with a 20.37% crit chance you'll end up with another 6.11% increase in your tooltip DPS from what you are at right now if you get mortal shots (with a tooltip of 639.7, that's over 39 DPS.

For those who cant find his build (cuz armory is slow) here's the build:

/cry nevermind. i love the BM build and the way you talked about it got me all psyched... thought i had missed some talents or something that added to your weapon speed... Anyways, you sound really excited about the idea, so stick with it and enjoy it. 0.76 attack speed is just really cool (though both ammo and mana inefficient, using arcanes and mutli's).

Rumor has it that the 4 set bonus from teh desolation gear does not proc on ranged attacks. I've never had more than one piece so I can't speak from experience but it might be worthwhile to check into this.

Thanks for the feedback so Far, I was playing with a talent Calculator and thinking of doing a 40/21/00 switchover, since Scatter shot is ridiculously good, and as fas as ammo consumption goes Blizzard fixed that for me, with the advent of the adamantite shell machine...I love you Blizzard. I usually carry 3 extra with me, but do plan on investing in a 24 slot, its just a question of Time=Money/Aerie Peak's Massively inflated economy...I've also Heard that the Desolation set doesn't apply to Range, but I want to work on it anyway since I could use some badges.

Also Having Serious issues deciding on the Don Santos Rifle, as the 2.7 attack speed might inhibit my ability to "Proc like I mean it!" I'm thinking After the poison vial focusing on Crystalweave cape, and a couple of +AP/+AGI leather Badge items to increase my haste to help with the procs, I know my hourglass proc just goes crazy now, and I am trying to test whether the procs can make up for the dps difference for a higher end Gun...Hopefully I can drag a druid along to SH, and get the Boomstick

Just keep in mind that alot of the procs in this game doesn't work on a percentage chance per shot base. Take the Crusader enchant or the Retribution Paladin seal as examples. They are made to proc so and so many times per minute, so a slower weapon will actually see more proc chance per attack than a fast weapon. I haven't seen tests on Romulos vial nor any other Hunter specific proc for this, but keep that in mind.

I understand Proc Normalization, but limited duration buffs do not cause the Procs per minute to adjust, not Sure about items that add haste rating, but Improved Hawk, Skyfire Swiftness, etc don't alter the proc rate, just the Actual rate of fire... In theory this means I can proc more in a shorter period ot Time...

Unfortunately this is all moot right now...I had to respec, as I got a wolfslayer sniper rifle to drop last night, so I can't busy my head in the sand over a 13 DPS increase weapon, and I tried to run the rest of Kara with it, but the slower speed was wholly incompatible with my gear and spec so I am going to switch out...I was a fun experiment, and I look forward to giving another go when I am running with a crew that can take Teron Gorefiend, and Gruul, as they both drop the 2 pieces I need to test this build in Raiding...

Thank you for all your input, I appreciate it

Just a heads up...marks is considered the weakest raiding tree.
