It's not my spec either. I failed in arena as mut, and I fail as step. I can't consistently keep a rating over 1800 to save my life and it's supposed to be "easy". What the hell am I missing?

It's not easy.

That's the first thing you got to remember.

30,000 team in 2v2... Those with 1500 rating are in the top 10,000. The average WoW player isn't capable of keeping a winning record, much less one above 1600, 1700 or dear lord, 1800+.

It's part of our culture and nature to only respect excellence and put down anything that is average or even 'good' - we only care about Great.

So no, it's not easy.

For starter - the gear level of Arena player has gone up a lot since S1 and even the start of S2. You're simply not going to burn through the ranking with blue weapons. Gotta give it time.

The 2nd thing you got to accept, is that if you want to win, and you want to be the best - you've got to make sacrifice. How much you're willing to sacrifice is up to you... but I'd start with the easy things -

Are you teamates as good as they could be? Are you with them because they're 'friends'?

What about you? You play with what you like and find anything you don't like to be 'inferior' in some way. You didn't want to be Combat when Combat was strongest and now you don't want to be AR/Prep. Why?

Bite the bullet. Winning with a spec you 'hate' ends up being a lot more fun then losing with a spec you love.

Lol, my three favorite people. Now all I need is theo taking a stab and it's complete.

Thanks teddy and RP for reminding me of what I already know, and thanks Tyrandor for letting me down easy lol.

To be helpful, I would say with your gear level there definitely is something wrong.

Whether it is you or your partner, or a combo of both, I couldn't tell until I fought you.

Tyr pretty much covered it. Spec for success and team for success will breed success.

You really should not have trouble breaking 1800 with your gear (although that weap is a tad outdated).

I just switched specs recently so I'm in a transition state for getting a decent weapon (hence the shanker offhand). I hope to have that problem rectified next week by buying the season 2 sword.

Edit:

And thanks Teddy.
