You can search YouTube for videos of the various fights. There are some good ones with explanations as to what to do, what to watch out for, and a phase by phase explanation of the encounter.

I'd check those out before you start raiding.

You're going to be very nervous, have no idea what you're doing, probably pull early and not matter how it goes, it will be over too soon.

for ur first raid, id take it a bit easy on the dps. first of all, grab a threat meter and keep ur eye on it. if u get aggro in kara theres a good chance u cood be 2-3 hit. so just watch ur threat and get to the learn how much dmg u can put out without getting aggro. u shoodnt have to sap since most of the raid is undead, so stay back, dont go crazy with the dmg, and keep an eye on the threat meter and u shood do fine.

-mongoose's homemade 13 points of raiding!-

1: slice and dice up at all times
2: feint every time you can
3: wait for sunders before dps(3 at minimum, 5 to be safe)
4: slice and dice, then rupture, then eviscerate... thats your finisher priority order
5: you love +hit rating in your gear, you LIVE for it as a raider
6: whatever job you are told to do, try your best... if you are killing adds, that means adds, not boss
7: if your job is to interrupt things, try to keep your kick available (both energy-wise and globalcooldown-wise) for when youll need it
8: DONT PULL AGGRO, VANISH IF YOU THINK YOURE ABOUT TO! ^_^
9: ALWAYS attack the right target, its all marked in raids... make sure you hit the right mark
10: always come repaired 100%, with all your reagants (that includes poisons, vanish powder, hp pots, buff pots/flasks... what have you)
11: garrote is the only finisher worth using that helps your dps, use garrote or dont even go into stealth (unless told to stun teh mobs!)
12: just follow instructions, and have fun in there!
13: o ya, dont ever walk ahead of the group... thats a mistake you dont want to make yourself lol

other then that, dont pull aggro is a big thing... vanish completely wipes out your aggro so use it whenever you feel you need to (long boss fights? i use it midway thru to clear aggro and get another garrote)

If you need to feint, you're trying too hard.

You shouldn't tell yourself when to attack, but rather your tank should have an attack macro, Jschach. And you should make a macro if you're do chain interrupts (Like on Julianne and Aran) to whisper the other people (or person) that you've used your interrupt.

More like if you need to Feint, your tank sucks or you can't find Vanish on your actionbars.

Feint scales horribly as already evident at Kara so yeah, don't Feint.

You don't need threat meters, you should figure out your aggro ceiling in the first few pulls, once you do, you can have BoM from Pallies rather than Salv that I see so many people getting.

Forget about Kicking unless you are directed to interrupt, no reason to ***** up your rhythm. In other words, all of the mobs that need interrupting have a casting time, if you don't have energy to kick by the end of the cast then you aren't paying attention.

Finally, maintain your finisher cycle, whether you do 1/5 or 3/5/5, maintain it in boss fights.

PS - Tanks do not need attack macros, I had this Draeni Warrior with a choo choo train macro everytime he pulled, pissed the hell out of me by the end of run.

get a threat meter (should be required) and just ride it. If you are nowhere close to the top dont bother feinting. And if you have AR+BF, be careful because your DPS gets out of control. NOBODY can tone down the SS spamage when AR is up lol. I like to vanish before using them.

Biggest thing, like mongoose said, SnD has to be up at all times.

BoM > Salv?? I disagree.

Like its said before, if youre having to feint or even use vanish on a non boss mob your tank needs some work. There should be no reason at all to have Salv up, not one.

i like salv for raiding... and feint was just a guideline... if your using it you wont pull, regardless of how bad your tank is haha

1) Do not use Expose Armor. You'll ***** up your tank's threat.
2) Do not attack before your tank has been hit 2-3 times, you might steal aggro.
3) Do not stun, you ***** up your tank's threat.
4) Know the fights, when it's time to stop attacking or run away, do it.
5) Do not ask for heals, bandage yourself.
6) If you die, DO NOT RELEASE unless your raid wipes.
7) Garrote is your opener. S&D and Rupture are your finishers.
8) Use vanish liberally, especially right before an AR to clear your threat.
9) If someone's dropping a wind fury totem, remove the poison from your MH.

You should be fine, but you're gonna be very very low on the DPS meters. Your goal should be to not get outdamaged by the tank.

This should only apply to boss encounters. If your raid leader tells you to run back, don't argue with him, lol.

Depends on the rest of the raid. I ran into Kara in all blues and was 1st-2nd on every fight except for Prince(in and out) and curator(Muti, boo)

Don't use rupture on trash. Majority of mobs are immune, and the rest will die before rupture runs its course.

You also can't rupture Attumen, Moroes, Curator(I don't know why anyone would in the first place), and Netherspite. Eviscerate should be replaced for rupture in those encounters.

Edit: Punctuation = bad
