Hey everyone im getting ready to do a 31/30 combat build and what i was wondering was why nobody ever uses evis. all the time i see KS and rupture being better then evis. So i suppose thats saying 1k dmg is better then 1.2k dmg? is there something i dont know, and if so can anyone tell me?
Youre rupture should do ALOT more then 1k damage. A 5-point rupture lasts for what? 18 seconds? ~200 Damage every 2 seconds regardless of armor is much more damage better then a 5pt evis.
This also depends on whether you are referring to PvE or PvP, judging by the spec you are choosing i would assume PvP and in that case your finished is extremely dependant on the situation.

My Rupture ticks for ~400 with full raid buffs. That's a hell of a lot more damage than Eviscerate. In PvP, if you don't know why KS is better than Eviscerate....wow.
Finisher scales terribly with gear, since none of them include weapon damage.
That being said, If I recall correctly, Eviscerate/Envenom only receive 15% of your atk, while Rupture (and garrote) receive 22%.
Rupture also totally ignore armor.
And heck, since you're 31/30 - you've got Serrated Blade, so 30% more to Rupture.
End result, your rupture hurts for a lot more then Eviscerate.
Also with Arena promoting survability and healing, burst damage just isn't as important as it used to be.
