started a night elf druid yesterday and i was wondering if there was any way to get to any populated citys as all round me are pretty much empty and quests and training are boring when you see like 1 person every hour

Ask a mage to port you to Ironforge or Stormwind. Throwing some money their way helps entice them also.

You don't say how far you got in your first night on your druid, but in case this is your first character, you should know that you start out in what's called a "starting zone" with mobs and quests that are appropriate and intended for lowest-level toons.

Those low levels go EXTREMELY fast, and you'll be sent on your merry way to the second zone by level 5 or 6 or so, if I recall correctly. And the "Go talk to <somebody> in <city> in <second zone>, young one." quests give you exp and in many cases kick off the quests for that second zone.

If you get whisked off to one of the major cities at 2 or 3 you'll find yourself in a zone full of mobs and quests above your level.

Just a little patience, young jedi, it won't take long at all to get there the old fashioned way.
