I have a level 34 human warlock that I am having issues with. I have been playing hunters and Druids and have one that is much lower than this one, but this guy seems way under powered. I have tried low level mobs, (10-15) and he takes way too much time to kill them. Case in point I have a level 18 Druid and did a test, her and the lock on the same level 16 mob, she burned the mob to the ground in seconds flat. No roots or anything just moonfire, the lock took well over 45-60 seconds or more. I send in my v-walker and the start to DOT the mob but it is taking too long to kill them and if it is more than two mobs one will break through and start pounding on me. Is there something I am doing wrong? Are my specs incorrect? I see lower locks taking out mobs 10 times faster than me and also my mana is dropping fast in combat, I need some help before I say the hell with it and delete this guy. Thanks for any help you can offer.

honestly your post is pathetic, and that coming of a sholar. S
Seems like you´ve gotten the status by accident to me.
There are million of posts here on how to specc for leveling.
all of them say " stay the **** away from destro-tree for leveling"

anyways back to your problem...

use this specc

http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/warlock/talents.html?0502220502230100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

castsequence:
Immolate
Siphon Life
Curse of Agony
Corruption
Drain Life until mob is dead.
Once you are used to it, you can dot up several mobs at once and drain them to death.
Finish a mob every now an then with drain soul to replenish your mana.

Oaken - I rated you up but I doubt it will make a difference.

Unfortunately you are right - the title has little to do with aptitude, experience or in-game achievment - although many would disagree.

Scholar title is done by the average rating of your posts, so there are really only 2 ways to get it. Either you're a nice person or you're a fountain of information. You can normally tell which is which pretty quickly.

I am not nice and I am far from being fountain of information. So how can a grumpy sarcastic little me carry a blue title?

Someone must have loved me a lot.....

Same way as me. Sarcasm is popular.

Let's see if we can't issue a little advise, eh, instead of complaining about our karma?... (And now, watch mine go down the drain...)

Your equipment is decent (which just means you're stacking appropriate stats, and not doing something dumb like stacking a bunch of Agility), and your talent spec is right where it should be for an Affliction 'lock. I really don't understand what you could be doing wrong.

Are you casting all your DoTs? You should be casting Corruption, Curse of Agony, and Siphon Life every time (Immolate helps speed things up, but it can pull aggro if you're not really careful).

Are you using Life Tap and Drain Life properly? My typical routine is apply DoTs, Life Tap once or twice until my mana's back up, then Drain Life to get back health. With the Soul Siphon talent, Drain Life actually contributes noticeably to your damage, and the combination of Life Tap and DL lets you finish combat with full health and mana.

I don't see how this is possible. With such a low-level mob, a single DoT cycle should be more than adequate, and that takes about 18-20 seconds; combine that with cast times, and I could see it taking MAYBE 40 seconds from the instant you send your demon in. In truth, it should probably take a single Corruption to kill something half your level, with maybe a CoA for good measure.

Could you post your typical cast sequences? Maybe describe exactly what you do in combat?

I don't think so. At 25 points, he should be at full Shadow Mastery, and that means that he's wasted some points on his way up. Not only that, but the only DoT he's enhanced in his spec is CoA. Where is his Empowered Corruption? He shouldn't be getting beat on enough to need Fel Concentration.

Then we can look at equipment. The only enchant he has is Absorption (10) on his blood robe... The equipment he has is fine, but could use a bit (maybe just one) of "of Shadow Wrath" to up the damage a bit.

How do you figure that he should have full Shadow Mastery? He's level 34, which gives him exactly 25 talent points. Shadow Mastery requires you to already have 25 points invested in Affliction, and thus requires level 35 before you can put your first point into Shadow Mastery. Full SM requires level 39. The only point I could say was wasted is the point in Shadow Embrace, since that's useless since patch 2.3.

As for Empowered Corruption, he has 0 +spell damage. Empowered Corruption is kinda useless until you have at least a little +dmg. It's easy enough to respec later on.

If he's trying to drain-tank, Fel Concentration is absolutely necessary. That's why I was asking what his play style is.
