I was looking through the auction hall today when i ran accross the leggings of beast mastery for 800 gold.

I thought to myself, wow for that much they are not that impressive.

I could see them being usefull in solo play where you use your pet to grind. but i cannot see them being very usefull in 5 man instances and up.

I can also see how a beast master might really like these.. but are they that much better than lets say. the beast lord leggings? or even the desolation leggings?

Are they worth the gold for any type of hunter spec? whats your opinion.

Sure, they may be desirable for a Bm hunter, but the Beast Lord Leggings and the desolation legggings give alot more AP. You lose alot more AP and int from these legs, but your pet gains more AP and stam. I wouldn't pay 800g for them though.

I think I bought those for 200 gold once, back when I was BM. Used them mostly while soloing. Not bad leggings at all for that purpose, but I wouldn't pay 800 gold for them. Besides, not really a raiders item.

I also picked these up for 200 g back when they didn't have the +30 AGI and +45 STA. I got blinded by their nice, purple color, but soon realized how incredibly crappy they were and banked them in favor of some green "of the bandit" pants (IIRC).

A few patches ago they were buffed to their current status, and now I'm using them. For a raider, I think all blue lvl 70 hunter pants would beat them, but until something good drops, they're at least half decent, though their epic label is a joke. I'd say 100-200 G is a fair price.

ehh... They shouldn't have even made the Pre-Raid Gearlist, IMO.

the only reason they're in the list is to have a complete list.
Also, there's a note right under it saying that they arent good.

I have been wearing these for a while as a BM hunter, and i enjoy them, for 5 man's were i am called on to let my pet off-tank for a 5-10 seconds or so, also they do boost your pets damage a good deal, so for BM spec they arn't bad.

For raids however, wear something else
