What lvl range does a druid become strong in PVP?Follow

I started running AB today hoping I could do a bit of damage, but I was quite discouraged by the results. My 70 lock is a tough guy, and while lvling him I could keep up towards the top in damage and kills at pretty much all the BG ranges (well 29+), but the druid is just so weak right now.

I know gear/enchantment-wise I could gain a bunch, but is the druid just not strong enough in the 29 bracket?

At 29, druids lack many of their skills. As feral, you lack pounce (cheap shot/garotte), ravage (ambush) and ferocious bite (eviscerate on steroids), and you lack travel form. You get all of these from 30 to 34, which will make you very overpowered in the 39 bracket, and it will start evening out from there.

Learn your strengths/weaknesses. Run the flag in WSG (in the 39 bracket no one will catch you), ninja nodes in AB or defend in stealth, call for reinforcements and endure in bear while messing up enemy caps, retreat with cheetah to heal/restealth, use bear for feral charge/bash, use entangling roots to stop runners... the possibilities are endless. Keep at it and you'll have fun, guaranteed :-).

For pvp, get 5/5 furor. Instant bearshift - feral charge - bash means noone will escape you.

Awesome, thanks for the response. Ive grouped with other druids in the high 40s and was impressed with their damage, so I was wondering when it got better.

I want to make a tank for end game, and I love grouping with druid tank so I thought I would try it. I like to pvp on the way to 70 though, and Id hate to be underpowered (cause well, locks are op ;) )

I won't start a 'locks are op' 'no they're not!' thread because I'm just sensitive about that stuff (:P), but at 39 druids are so OP it's not even funny. I was kicking a$$ and I didn't even have good gear or any enchants. 49 things start to slow down and it takes awhile to get accustomed to it because people can actually catch you now... >.<

I just started having some fun with my druid in AV at level 58, and it's pretty awesome. Sneak up in cat form, get a good pounce-->FF-->mangle-->shred-->shred-->shred (or less if any of those crit)-->rip, then hop in to bear form. Whenever I'm in bear I see myself focused alot, so make sure you have a healer with you. I got so much rage it was rediculous, I was spamming mangle and maul the entire time, swipe if I had several people in front of me. Bash was almost on permanent cooldown I didn't even remember using it...

Anyway, 39 and 59 is where it shines. You might not have OOC, but other classes haven't completed their specs, and none of them can have their 41 and 11 point talent, which works out better for use because that 11 point talent can be a pain... Don't worry about the 29 bracket. You're lacking a large majority of your skills while other classes (*cough* rogue + hunter *cough*) have enough of theirs to kill almost every other class. I haven't had the chance to experience 70 druid pvp, but I'm looking forward to it.

depends on what you want to be strong at.

healing? any level really, but 40+ for swiftmend helps.
nuking? again, any level can do, but youll get best results with gear starting a the 30+ levels.
feral? 30+. you dont have the tools for real effective feral play before then.
flag running/mobility? 20+. you need feline swiftness at least, and 30+ for travel form helps.

Today I had a good session of BGs. I kinda tried just being the universal guy. When were had a healer, I was in cat form swiping away. When their were stronger hitters than me, I stood back and healed/ removed curse (damn warlocks).

One game I even had top kills, but I was also at the stables fighting the whole time with a healer.

Its starting to get more fun, and I just like to stop at x8-x9 bracket and get the PVP gear. It seemed to make lvling my lock easier, and was better than anything else i could easily get.

I know it's not really answering your post, but I had great fun in AV last night.

I topped the healing meter as well as tanking both Balinda and Van with 2 of the marshalls (swipe FTW).

I have to add that at 29, I have been very happy with the damage output I can do on my RawrRawrKitty, while being near the top for healz as well.

The advantages not mentioned yet is shapeshifting, in kitty, out of most CC (and if you have the beforementioned Furor), and with your faster than normal speed talents, you are almost - almost - unkiteable.

I'm goofing around, learning the ropes, at 29, then moving on to 39 for the other talents I lack now.
