PvP / PvE Balance SpecFollow

I was looking at trying to put together a spec which would allow me to be effective in BG's as well as in 5 man runs (yes, my guild doesn't mind taking a DPS warrior through 5 mans ;->, aren't they nice).

What I've come up with so far is this.

Lemme know what you guys think, I've tried to balance the core abiliies for both applications as much as possible. And yes, I understand that I'll never be brilliant in either, although I envisage a shortish BG lifespan (only 2 items I want from S1 stuff to help with PvE dps, and I've almost got all the honor for one already), so I'm not too worried about it not being 100% cookie-cutter.

That being said, I ran SL with thg guild with a stock-standard 33/25/3 PvP build, and didn't to do badly, in fact the mace stuns on the trash mobs helped out dramatically well, proc'ing at least once, sometime twice per mob. Ofc, the bosses were immune, but hey, can't win 'em all.

I will respec to a 17/44/0 DW build once I'm done with the BG's, then the fun will really start ;->.

Thanks in advance

31/30 - standard 2H DPS specc together with 33/28.
This is not new specc - it was tested and works well.

If you are the only MS warrior in raid and you run with many warrs/rogues/hunters/ferals - you could consider taking BF from Arms tree to increase raid DPS.

As for maces - it is the least PvE weapon kind. I would go for sword or even axe.

I Hear you on the ideal PvE spec, and the fact that Maces are not the best for PvE.

2 Things though ... 1) I don't intent raiding with this spec, just the odd 5 man (maybe even a possible heroic or two), and 2) I still need to be viable for PvP, hence the Mace spec ... oh and I'm a Hammersmith, so to change and make a 2H sword or Axe would cost a little more gold than I am willing to part with for this purpose.

If I do get the chance to Raid, it would most certainly mean the 17/44 respec, the switch back to axesmith (to use the Planar Edge I have in my bank), and DW ftw. But that's only going to happen once I've decided I've done all the PvP I can handle.

That all being said, would PvP viability be there (remember this is only BGs, not arena), if I went for a stock standard 2H raiding spec, cos that's always an option.

Would you consider geting into protection tree insdead of fury? you will lose improve slam, piercing howl and flurry (ouchies). But will get acces to tactical mastery, Concussion blow and Improved shield bash. I have no experience with this build and do not support it, does sound interesting though.

Less avaiable in arena? prolly.
Can tank heroics? prolly.
And BG calls for tactic more than ability to kill things fast, being able to survive longer is a huge advantage if you know how to use it.

if you plan on PvP, take 2nd wind. 2 points in flurry won't help much. It IS nice, but it's mostly a pve ability. putting the other 3 points into Tm is very handy. putting that point in SS into finishing out commanding presence is nice too.

33/25/3 is fairly balanced. It leans towards more of a PvP build, with tanking options.

33/5/23 is also fairly balanced. It leans towards more of a Tank build, with PvP options.
