I'm beginning to face some problems with getting enough defence to stay crit immune and need some advice from druids in MH and BT on how they get enough defence. As it is now i have exactly 415 defence with 4/5 T4 pieces, heavy clefthoof west, gems and so on, but if i manage to get my hands on T4 chest it will leave a gap of 32 defence rating (24 from chest and 8 from gems in it). How do i best fill that gap? Do i really need to start cramming defence gems in every socket and get defence enchant on bracer?

My current defence is divide on the following gear:
16 Head enchant
22 Necklace of the Juggernaut
10 Shoulder enchant
24 Gilded Thorium Cloak (would like it replaced with Slikk's Cloak of Placation, but that would further gimp my defence)
32 Heavy Clefthoof Vest (with +8 from gems)
19 Violet Signet of the Great Protector
22 Ring of Unyielding Force
9 +5 gem in bracer +4 gem in shoulder

I listed the items because I'm not wearing my tanking gear in armory at the moment, but here's the profile anyway.

I know i can get enought defence with gems, but i just don't know what the most efficient way of getting it would be. I think i have some pretty great items and would hate to replace them for PVP items to get resillience. I do have Adamantine Figurine (+32 defence rating) sitting in the bank, but that would mean throwing out either darkmoon card madness or moroes imba pocket watch.

I know i have kind of a luxury problem, but still, any advice or comments are greatly appreciated

EDIT: I have no idea why i have Terestian's Stranglestaff equipped in armory. I use Wildfury Greatstaff for both dps and tanking at the moment. Hence getting Earthwarden is not really an option for me (Have that one in the bank too)

Have you tried making up the difference with Resilience? The PVP bracers (even better, the S3 ones coming out Tues)have a nice chunck of Res. Same with the PVP belt. If you add up the % in Def and Res so long as it adds up to the needed 2.6% crit reduction (assuming you of course have the SotF talent.) you're covered.

That was my thought as well. The new Vindicator's Leather Waist, Boots & Bracers are all fantastic tanking items (almost guaranteed to be better than what you have) and the Vengeful Gladiator's Dragonhide Helm is probably better than the T4 helm as well.

Failing this, you could also look at getting the +15 resilience enchant for your chest to help hit the cap.

Each point of resilience is equal to about 1.5 pts of defense rating, so that enchant is worth almost 23 Def rating by itself.

I wish I had your problem though :)
