Affliction raid build.Follow

Anyone got viable affliction raid spec ? i'm 41/0/20 but i would like to try something new while still focusing on the affliction tree.

Also, am i geared enough to do the harder part of kara (past curator) ?

First of all, talent tree:

You're an affliction lock without 3/3 empowered corruption. WTF? If you're serious about raiding, take them out of iHoT and intensity (you shouldn't be taking damage that will dramatically interrupt your casting of sbs). Although I myself run with 3/5 suppression, I believe I'm on the "deep end" as it is. I would suggest no more than 3 MAX points in suppression - you'll need to up your +spell hit.

Armory:
Imo, no - you aren't. I have three reasons for this:

1. Spell hit - you're going to need +60 minimum, otherwise you're going to be hugely mana inefficient (recasts) as well as lacking dps (weaker dots, cast-time). I am saddened that you filled up perfectly nice fsw gear with +7dmg gems, and didn't even get all *blue* gems, let alone fill out the socket bonus.

2. No netherweave! You have a great mana-etched two-pair going for you: try to fill it out. The netherweave gloves and belt are a waste of space (you can get better overall stats with quest rewards or bg!).

3. Enchantments - +40 spell damage (weap), +15 spell hit (gloves), thread (pants), are some basic things that are cheap and very, very useful. You are gimping yourself if you don't get these done asap.

Good luck playing!

This is what I am planning on going into kara with:
http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/warlock/talents.html?2502220512230115510312050000000000000000000505000010000000000000

I know I should probably drop Fel Concentration and pick up Shadow Embrace, but I'm also gonna be BGing with this. I wish I could squeeze IHoT into it, but I just don't see how I could.

as ovelia said, work on your gear some first too. I know I need to also.

is what I raid with. You're not getting malediction, which is extremely helpful to caster dps, but you still have pvp viability and you can get shadow embrace, which adds another debuff and gives you more drain for drain life. Granted, you have to be max spell hit to use it, but just take points out of intensity and shadow embrace until you reach it. You should NEVER rely on suppression, or you should strive not to. Shadowbolt is 1/3 of my dps, and once you get 4/5 t5 you want every shadowbolt to hit (each sb that hits increases the damage of corruption by 10%).

Ovelia already said it, but GET EMPOWERED CORRUPTION! It doesn't matter how you do it, aff lock without empowered corruption = seriously gimped.

Here's mine. It has very little PvP viability, and not as much survivability, but it's still safer than what I was back when I was destro.

Points in devastation to get more ISB procs, destructive reach so I can stay at max range at all times. No fel concentration because I do not plan to get attacked. If I get hit often enough to want less interruption, it's because either I am stupid or the tank died.

My only problem is how, even with my total +15% spell hit, I get resists far too often.. And I mean on other than bosses. I understand that I can't have 100% spell hit, but I should not be resisted twice in a row by a 68 BM trash mob!

Pre t4/5, this is actually a very viable pvp/pve/raid build. The only difference between this and my current build is that I have yet to respect to move the point from SE (no longer counts post 2.3?).

www.wowhead.com/?talent=IAMriRfzqtbofxMzc

I ran kara last night doing #2 for dps (lost to beeder by about .8%); for AV got sixth for hks, third for kills, and first (552k) for overall dps (won by 40k).

Malediction, imp-hs, imp sb/bane are variable depending on your place in the raid-group.

Shadow Embrace doesn't proc Nether Protection, Spellstrike procs, and so on, but still affect Soul Siphon!

For the topic, until SSC/Hyjai/BT affliction is very good for raid, past that, u can't raid efficiently without 0/21/40 cuz every lock item only helps this build (haste, crit, etc.).

I got some new hit rating gears from heroics. But doesn't Suppression reduce the need of hit rating ? how much should i get with suppression ? Also, i heard that Shadow Embrace didn't add to soul siphon. And I've been doing Heroic Rampart to get these nice mana-etched gloves, but no luck yet :( . BTW keep in mind that i'm farming, doing 5 mans, soloing and doing BG with that build.

Supression only helps your hit rating on affliction spells, meaning that if you are using SB's as a filler between your dots, they will not be helped by Supression.

Strive to get as high hit as you can, and use Supression until you get max hit, but once you get max hit, use the points elsewhere.

Ok, I've got some new gear. I've been told that if i'd respec destro, I'd do more DPS. But i have kinda a low crit % and i have +shadow damage. Would respeccing destro really make a differance ? If so, what spec should i get ? Thanks.

+shadow is good for dest. seeing as the only real dest specs are the shadow dest ones (sacrificed sucubus, use shadowbolt and corruption) having a crit rate below 20% imo is to low for a dest spec (it's been proven that if your crit rate is below 20-25% then UA is a better option for dps), also you really need 170+hit or more if you want to do 'equal' damage to an afliction build. stick with the afliction imo. you may see lower crits but you'll have fun from having to cast more spells as well as being a spec that'll have a decent chance in pvp unlike the 0/21/40 build which has ZERO pvp viability.. lol

Bump.

Now that i'm kinda geared, i've been wondering if i have enough spell hit rating and spell damage for tier 5 content.

Here is my character
