Paladin or Not?Follow

Ok, i've been playing as a dwarf and lvl 8 now. And its got boring. Like the spells aren't uber strong or anything. Its like Paladins just are healers only with better armor. Im new so i absolutely no nothing of diffrent types of paladins and such. So I like melee and or range they both are cool, just not being a hunter, tried bored me to death. So what should i be? Should i stick as a pally or be a diffrent class. Also is there a good allience server, Thunderhorn stinks right now, everyone there is really lame. Thank you in advance.

Im sure the fact that you haven't played him past level 8 doesn't help. If you expect to be 'uber strong or anything' at such a low level, you're mistaken.

If you want melee/range DPS, just about every other class but the paladin. Eventually they dish out 'ok' burst dps, but they don't compare to the other classes.

Pally's can also become one hell of a tank in the later levels. Decide what you want and go from there. And it'll help to level classes more before deciding they're not powerful enough.

If you're bored at level 8, you'll never make it to 70. That goes for any class imo, but particularly Paladins.

Retadins own in the 30-early 40's, expecially in BG's (retadin being retribution based spec). Then their dmg dies down. but they make awsome tanks. holy/prot spec is damn near unkillable. If you want uber dmg then roll a rogue or mage. If you dont want to die and dont mind not doing alot of dmg then roll pally. Personally i enjoy pally for the fact if offers some of the greatest support in a group. pally buffs are nice and can heal pretty good too. And its nice being tank and offheal when needed. You'll be somewhat popular as a holy or prot pally IMO because you can fill 3 roles. main tank, main healer (more holy then prot), and offtank/offhealer. Take the class to 20 and if your bored try a rogue or mage. They are squishy and die easy but deal out nice dmg. or try an arms warrior if u wanna do dmg and tank.

That's definitely true, but it's also true that no class in the game is going to knock your socks off with its fun factor as early as level eight.

Most classes don't start to show any significant interactivity until level 20 and more still don't truly start to shine until 40-ish. If you can't play a class somewhere into the 20-40 range then you're never going to be able to make an educated dicision on what you will or will not find fun.

Unfortunately, as to what class you should play up into that range... I can't help you, and neither can anyone else. Just pick a class that, conceptually, sounds cool to you, and run with it.

If you really, absolutely can not push 20 with any class before you get so bored that you want to stop playing it... not only is it time to roll a new class, I'd suggest you cut further loss of time by just quitting WoW altogether.

Roll Rogue, I'm surprised you didn't like hunter though.

BTW Getting to level 10, er well 8 in your instance, should litterally take about 2.5 hours. You got bored in 2 and a half hours?

No.

Paladins are the tough nuts of WoW -- very, very hard to kill if played and specced well. No way whatsoever you would see a whiff of that by level 8, that's for sure. But in general if you want to melt faces, Paladin is not your pick. Paladin is the tough nut that is hard to kill and offers a lot of versatility in playstyle and options, including great bufs, healing opporttunities, tanking viability and the like.

It's amazing how often this exact line (or one VERY similar to it) gets used, by new posters here and older ones alike. Makes me weep every time I see it. Does no one actually READ about the classes in this game anymore, much less their spells, before coming here making such an outrageous claim? /sob

I forgive the newbies, cause at first glance that is what Paladins seem to be. Either a healer in plate or a warrior with heals. It takes time and understanding and experience to be able to find out the uniqueness of the paladin class.

More experienced ones, however, should feel the wrath of the paladin community at making outrageous claims.

You, I would let pull aggro and watch die.

Yea, I try to forgive the newbs, but not the noobs. It's just one of those things that you hear/see over, and over, and over again that one gets tired of real fast. I'm sure if I looked I could find someplace almost all the regulars here have pulled their hair out in frustration having answered a hundred times.

Ha ha ha ha... Oh, come now, you know my Pally is Prot. You'd die if you didn't let me pull aggro or watched me die.

Thankfully, I shave my head, so I don't have any hair to pull out. Lord knows I would have done it long before now.

If I pulled out one hair for every time I've told someone to look at the FAQ, not only would I be bald, but probably several of my friends as well.
