My first topic, this'll be fun. *gulp*

So, yeah. For the past 25 days /played I was destro. I thought I was doing just fine, but yesterday my boredom and guildies convinced me to respec. I did what I could, with my limited knowledge of the spec, to create a useful raider/instance Afflict spec. My gear is still weak, but I managed to top the Kara DPS charts yesterday. Mostly because everyone was being really stupid.. How do you wipe repeatedly on trash mobs?!

I just want to know if/what I did wrong, or where I can improve. I can already see I don't want iCoA, but then I don't really know where to put those points.

So have I. ANd I've run one BG with it only so far. It's going to take some getting used to.

My build
- if you're interested.

I'm intrigued by cast sequence myself. And on what do I use UA. Stuff like that. I'm gonna have fun working it out.

interesting choices, not bad for a first choice. as you've said, iCoA isn't worth it (it does the 10% increase before +damage, so only results in a flat 100ish damage increase). soulsiphon would be a much better choice as it's incredably helpful for improving your solo efficiency and regening health fast. you also arguably don't need 5/5 suppresion. you've got 7% hit currently and that's going to go up no doubt in the near future. one thing i am surprised about is that you didn't take empowered corruption. the more +damage you get the better it works.

so yeah, to keep along the same lines as that spec, i'd change to this
41/2/18

CoEx is pretty useful in solo pve, pvp and even raids as sometimes the ability to kite is a big help. shadow embrace is nice, though tbh it's there mainly to improve the amount you drain using drain life due to the soulsiphon talent.

i hope this helps :)

I thought the latest patch made it so shadow embrace didn't boost the soul siphon talent. Looks like i have to respec back.

nope. it still affects soulsiphon, it just doesn't cause nether protection to proc anymore + anyother things that proc from debuffs (if there are any others)

All of those Darkmoon cards that proc off of spell hits used to go off from shadow embrace. Not anymore.

But it still works on soul siphon? It would make sense, since it is an affliction effect.

That looks better than mine, Jenova. I'll try it out. I just hope that the decline of guild members from 71 to 37 overnight isn't the sign I think it is. I'll never find a good guild again.

Oh, and I found that I have the greatest luck. As long as I have Fel Armor and no other spell damage buffs, my Dark Pact drains exactly 1337 mana.

Don't even get me started on finding a 'good guild'.

Impossible. But then, the population on my server went from medium to low to medium in the space of 12 hours this week, so I can only imagine how much harder it's going to get.

Thank God for the one I'm in now. At least with mates you can have a bit of fun, even if raiding is a never never.
