I'm a holy and prot pally, but recently been working on a ret set just for fun like in 5mans and for farming, so I'm not really experienced with it but I'm curious what everyone uses.
I've got a Gorehowl, and I just picked up Executioner enchant in ZA tonight, but most pally's I see that are ret seem to be using Savagery. I know AP is huge, and I know these paladins might not want to pay for or farm executioner, but I've been seeing a lot of discussions saying how great executioner is for everything other than rogue.
What do you guys think, or use rather? I know there is a ton of Holy and Prot pallies on this forum, but you guys gotta have alt sets or possibly (and hopefully) experience with the two.
I'm not a human btw so Gorehowl is the weapon I'd be enchanting, I'm not a blacksmith either since im JC/Enchanting - and getting anything different for weapon is kinda difficult. My guild regards me as a Holy first (25mans), Prot 2nd(ZA onry) and ret, well, never (they still laugh when I even mention it for farming!!)

I do have a ret set from when I was specced that way and I have Savagery as my enchant. The main reason I chose it was because it was relatively inexpensive to get. Also, I like that the AP helps me out on every swing.
I have no experience at all with executioner so hopefully someone else can give a little input on how effective it could be in comparison.

Same, if someone can come here and tell us for sure on Executioner, would be great. I also have a Gorehowl, unenchanted, and am piecing together a Ret set at the moment to try out in some 5-mans I have I think 8 pieces so far, working on the rest when there is a lack of plate DPS in the groups I run. So, more or less, /bump for my own curiosity as well ;)

Here's the thing on Executioner. I know it's an awesome enchant for sure for the other melee DPS classes, but the question is does the awesomeness it adds to your white damage overtake either the damage added to all your SoC procs by savagery or the crits(and thus Vengeance procs) given by Mongoose?
I'd love to see some mathcraft on it, myself.

You beat me to the punch, Poldaran.
The Retribution tree is so completely oriented around crits that I have a hard time not believing that Mongoose would produce better results. Even if you prefer something more reliable for PvE, over time in PvP I would be surprised if Executioner produced a more significant boost to your DPS.
