Playing a lock is boring

Sorry, but I have a level 34 afflock right now, and both pvp and pve is boring. Sure, I can probably kill anything within 5 levels of me no problem, but its always the same fight, and a dull one at that. Send pet, apply dots, run in circles not getting killed. Most of the time I'm just standing there, waiting for my ticks to kill something. Sure, its cool to see chunks of their health go flying away each second, but I expected something more exciting, ya know? Has anyone else experienced this?

And, before you say it, I dont really want to re-roll since I'm leveling with a friend and it would be a pain in the **** to catch up with him at this point. Is there a way to make the game more exciting?

Yeah, QQ less and try a different talent tree. ***.

I wasnt really complaining, I was just wondering if anyone else had ever hit a slow point in the game, or if I have ADD. Not QQing. I enjoy being able to smash my face into the keyboard and take out three people in BG, just asking a question.

Ignoring my esteemed colleagues Loki and mike, yes, I have a hit slow parts of the game.

However, you're blaming your class for your own boredom with the game. Every class you roll ends up being repetitive - that's why there are talent trees. Switch a around, become demo or destro.

And quit moaning about being a 'lock - it's about as diverse as it gets.

Warrior - smash and bash
Hunter - send pet, shoot
Mage - shock, dps
Pally - do everything...badly
Shaman - actually, no experience, but looks interesting
Druid - choose from tank, dps or heal...same old, same old, once you have
Priest - heal (or shadow (read: 'lock wannabe)
Rogue - stealth, sap, dps

Yawn, right? Except you play around with the trees and THEN you have fun. It's the game that gets dull. New area - grinding Qs to level up, then a few group Qs and an instance or two. Rinse and repeat.

Take a break, fella, you're bored, the 'lock ain't boring.

Back to my esteemed colleagues Loki and mike now - I concur with "***" and "moron".

Giggle.

How can you seriously complain about warlock being boring when you don't even have:

Death Coil
Dark Pact
Howl of Terror
Soul Link
Soul Fire
Fel Guard
...etc. yet.

Level 34 is pretty much always boring, regardless of what class you are (unless you're a mage, aoe grinding is great).

Try leveling a warrior. You literally do not have any other dps attacks besides you're weapon swing (w/heroic strike) until level 30 at the earliest.

Well, people have given me the standard crap about it, but sometimes I just break out the staff and start swinging for the bleachers. Sure, I know the more popular cast sequences, and the quickest way to kill things, but I have about 12 different battle plans and I use them all to keep things exciting. Try different things for the heck of it! There are no rules to YOUR style of play!

Inop is 100% correct IMO. Everyone has these moments of realization that their class is repetitive. Dont blame the class though. You have an array of options:

-Make a new character (bad habit I have, but it works)
-Work on an alt (to help appreciate your original class)
-Try a new spec (my personal favorite)
-PvP for a little while (whole different playstyle unless you are an idiot)
-Experiment with gear and/or rotations1

There are many reasons for your boredom, but none of them are solely based on the class you chose. Hope this helps :)

everyone enjoys different classes, also you haven't given warlock a chance. tbh if you're not lvl.70 then you haven't started the game.

also as i said, people enjoy different classes. some people enjoy being able to rightclick on a mob and go afk (enhancement shamans) while others prefer to activate auto-shot and go afk (hunters). others enjoy only pressing 1 button (mages) and then some enjoy having massive diversity in their class (warlocks)

Mid 30's is a hard time to be any class. Your spell are getting repetative but your not high enough to get the new stuff that changes everything. So many of the quests have you running from place to place, just hanging out on a gryphon, good times. It's one of the reasons they made the whole new town in Dustwallow Marsh, to help with the mid 30 slump, if you will.

If your bored go do something interesting. Go solo deadmines. Go take on elites 5 lvls higher than you. There's a vast amount of stuff to do in this game, hell, I found my way to Silithus when I was a bored 30 something.

I also say a change in spec couldn't hurt, a little variety is nice every once in a while.

Thanks to those of you who understand. And I can see where the rest of you are coming from. Yes, I'm a noob, and from what I've heard from my friends, until you hit 40 the game nearly comes to a grinding halt. So, I guess I'll chug through and make the best of it.

Sethy, no pics in the other thread? How am I supposed to know the woman with whom I've fallen in love?

You'll recognise her no problem. She'll be looking bored as hell as she casts Shadowbolts at anything that comes near her...

...it seems.
