I was wondering everyone's advice on this subject. I have been debating whether or not to pick up tailoring and PL it in order to create the Primal Mooncloth set. I realize that cloth is not the BEST gear I could be wearing. However, the Windhawk set is notoriously lousy for healing (from what i've read at least) and the Primal MC set is said to be Tier 5 equivalent, or very near. It also stacks some of the primary stats for ToL druids (being +spirit). That being said, the cloth shouldn't matter considering I'm going to be 1 shotted in any raid regardless of my dmg mitigation. Anyways, I just wanted a couple of other opinions before I sink my gold into it.

thanks!

That's not actually true. While you may not be able to take many hits, you can possibly survive 2-3 hits, enough to let the tank taunt a mob off of you. (Unless it's a boss but in that case he should just never hit you at all)

However, with the total absence of +Stam on the Primal Mooncloth stuff, you will be one-shotted.

I personally wouldn't take a profession just for gear you'll quickly replace. In my opinion, the leather stuff that drops in Kara is superior to the Primal MC stuff even if it loses some +Heal.

There are some very decent blues for a Resto Druid before Kara and I'd suggest going with those instead and choosing a more useful profession. Then again, if there's no other profession that you find appealing, why not.

It's really up to you.

I know its slightly offtopic, but right now i have a lowish leveling Feral Druid, is it good to keep a small set of healing gear if i want to heal sometimes? If so, other than +to healing spells, what will help? I am going to guess Intell but i cant think of anything else

+heal, int, spi, mp5 are all helpful. If you complete a quest with eq rewards and there isn't a good upgrade for your regular gear, take the one aimed toward healing instead (it'll probably be cloth) and throw it in the bank, or keep dropped healing gear you come across. If you're doing instances a lot you may want to invest a little I guess, but personally while leveling I haven't bothered spending money on offspec gear while gear is so quickly replaced anyway.
