I got this game back in January after I quit FFXI and a friend convinced me to try wow. I took my time leveling to 70 as MM spec and when I hit 70 I decided to try SV. It took me a few months to get gear, but thanks to the Pre Raid Gear, tips and tricks thread, I knew what gear to go after. I finally got all the gear that I thought I would need to start Kara. I have a cookie cutter raid build, other than me taking out a point from improved AotH and putting it into scatter shot, because I didn't feel comfortable trapping without it.

I would appreciate any constructive criticism on my gear and build, thanks in advance!

Just took a real quick look at your stats (Armory is damn slow, US even worse), and I have to say you are more than ready. You will be blowing most other starting raiders out of the water.

Yeah I thought so, thanks.

I wanted to use my gear as an example of some gear for some other survival hunters in my guild who are just starting to gear up so I wanted to be sure everything was fine.

Edit: I'd also like to say thanks to all the people on this board, I have been a lurker here for a long time and I learned much, if not all of what I know from reading the tips you guys have given out. Thanks and keep up the good work!

Your gear looks great =) More agi, in fact, than me! (Darn T4 shoulders w/ no agi, grumble grumble).

Coincidentally, you're in my battle-group. Hope we've never killed each-other! hehe

If it isnt for the setbonus, the beastmaw pauldrons from opera are better...
T4 - Beastlord - Beastmaw
230 hp - 0 hp - 220 hp
345 mp - 180 mp - 345 mp
44 AP - 59 AP - 70AP
0.86%crit - 0.625% - 0.6%
5 Mp5 - 5 Mp5 -8 Mp5

So T4 vs Beastmaw:
-10hp, +26AP, -0.24%crit, +3Mp5 and added bonus of 24 agility.

You aren't factoring in the sockets though. I don't know if they'd make that big a difference, but I would think so. Crit > everything really. It would bump up the crit and close the AP gap by 16.
