Advice from my fellow warriorsFollow

Hello there, I've been browsing these forums, whether for FFXI or WoW, for about 3 or 4 years, but this is my first post. I have a 70 Hunter, and lately have been playing my warrior, which has recently reached level 60. This is my spec:

http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=LVMcbAioM0zZVVzm0bZc

My gear, having just reached outlands is pretty typical. Some quest greens, a few drops, and a little bit of outdated azeroth nonsense. Worth noting is 2 drops I got in Ramparts and Bloodfurnace, respectively.

The Shadowrend Longblade:

The Warsong Howling Axe:

Lately, I've been having an obscene amount of trouble handling the mobs in Outlands of equal level or higher than myself. Maybe it will get better once I can equip the Warsong axe (I'm halfway to 61) but it doesn't feel like it. This is a very foreign feeling to me, because I was the king of Azeroth. I would charge, and if lucky, crit white, crit mortal strike, and then one more crit and the thing was dead. In outlands if I do that I've only got the thing down to 50-75% health. While leveling my sword skill with the aforementioned Shadowrend Longblade, and some quest reward sword (keep in mind I'm specced poleaxe) I noticed a much easier kill than before.

I guess my question is what I should do now. I've seen Devioususer's recommendation for a level 60 of

http://www.war-tools.com/?p=vt&i=41035&b=9050203s505d5c52120531151w

And, I see that this is a 2h fury build, which I'm not used to. I've always had the mindset that Arms=2h and Fury=DW and that Arms was generally better for PvE. Does this change at 60? And if so, should I use Devioususer's build? Or a DW Fury Build? If Devious's do you primarily slam spam with that or bloodthirst?

Any help on this matter is much appreciated. I'd prefer not to mess this up as money is a bit tight having just bought my epic mount =/

your current build's fine. you're mostly limited to MS and WW, but you can still throw in a 2 second slam after white hits when those two abilities are on cd (rage permitting).

although you may have felt like you had a faster kill rate dual wielding swords, this was most likely a fluke of successful white hits, white/yellow crits, flurry procs, jupiter aligning with pluto... without seeing your gear or your melee stats i really can't say. however, it's most likely that you don't have the +hit or +crit necessary to outweigh a 2h spec at your level; this changes the closer you get to 70.

2h fury at your level will focus more on slams, as devious et al have pointed out before that BT does not replace MS in a 2h DPS build until you get to 3k AP. this is not such a bad thing... although the bonus damage is different, both abilities depend on weapon damage, and though MS is an instant cast vs. slam's .5s cast time (2/2 imp slam), slam is only limited by available rage (15 per slam) and gcd, whereas MS is limited by a 6s cd and a cost of 30 rage. if my math is correct, with a full rage bar and absolutely perfect timing you can throw 6 slams in 3 seconds... in a not so perfect world, you should be able to throw 6 slams in well under the 6 second MS cd.

What to do?....

In my opinion level in outlands. Make some quests and get some gear to help you with it. If you like BGs you could get some PvP gear but its better to keep points for level 70 ding and buy full set right away.

Do't worry about being weak now. Outlands were created for long-time level 60 with either epics from MC/BWL/AQ40/Naxx or from honor rewards so it is maybe a bit more difficult for someone wearing Azeroth greens/blues.

Leveling 60 - 70 was fun for me and I am sure it will soon be fun for you as soon as you get some Outlands gear.

As for specces - go arms or DW fury. Protection is not recomended for leveling and 2H fury is for end game gear. I would recomend arms with nice 2Her but some people find DW more fun even with many misses you will get from not enough + hit.

Dont forget to tank some. Tanking expirience is must if you want to visit some end game content later. Besides it is fun when you know what to do.

I couldn't agree more, in fact when its possible tank as many as you can. You can tank-lvl your warrior, thats you have enough time between log-ins and log-outs.

Oh and another pointer: honor hold (or horde equivalente) is reputation gained from questing in hellfire but also from the instances, its recommended you rep-up throiugh instances first and after reaching honored (i thought) doing the quests.

Well i have leveled my warrior from 10-60 with arms. It was fun but it also was slow and i had to rest a lot after just a few mobs. (Unless i took 2 at a time, combined with sweeping strikes, which isnt in the arms tree anymore but anyhow)

Then i specced to dw/fury. It gave my lvling such a boost, i really cleaved through mobs and i didnt have to rest that much anymore. Furthermore just waiting for a nice overpower crit or bashing mortal strike or timing slam, fury is so much more fun if you ask me! There is a lot more action and you see a lot of buffs which im kinda into.

Furthermore i dont agree with what u said about Arms being the PVE spec. Although slam is nice for Arms is still better then fury for pvp and fury generally better for pve.

Thank you, everyone, for your quick replies...

Here's a link to my Armory. I know warrior is more gear intensive than most, but I don't think the couple old pieces of gear I have justifies how awful I've been doing. Again, maybe things will change with the Warsong axe. I don't know.

As for your guys' comments about tanking, you need not worry about that. I've always enjoyed tanking and am good at it (Sunken Temple doesn't count >.>)

I think I'm going to stay Arms for a little while longer, and if it doesn't pan out, I'll switch to Fury. Still looking for advice though, if anyone else has anything to offer.
