Hello fellow mages. Just something that I've been curious about.

I currently have a lv50 Mage and, have AoE Ground...Grinded... um...whatever. since lvl 40.
It was going pretty good only slowing down a bit now when all the Pirates are green to me. I am almost to the point where I would pack up my Hearth and head off to the Plaguelands.

But then I got to wondering. Would I be better off changing up my spec a bit to a less AoE talent set and then just questing out my remaning time in Azeroth? Just curious if anyone else has/is experienceing the same thing. AoE grinding was going great for me. When I could get the camp to myself I would really rake in the exp and the loot from all the drops.

I know that the exp to lvl was lowered but the quest exp was also raised. Think I would get more for my time invested just questing? Anyways, open to any opinions.

You may as well quest as you get 30% more exp for each turn in and each level requires 30% less exp. I got bored of grinding in the mid 40's so I quested the rest out and it was a nice change of pace.

If you really like grinding though, go for it.

I had been doing aoe grinding from about 42 to 57, then finished the last 3 levels with quests right after the patch. My advice, is that if you want Argent Dawn rep and/or rewards, aoe grind the plaguelands. Be warned, it can be some work to actually get the rewards, especially with outlands right there. But grinding for rep to Honored is the best way to get started.

But to answer your real question: quests are now faster than aoe grinding. Except in the few levels that a camp is perfect between danger and exp gain, even with rested exp quests often beat out grinding.

Ok thank you for the quick responses. More or less what I had expected/wanted to hear.

Grinding while lucrative, after 10 straight lvls of it got to be a bit tedious. I had to take a break from my mage for like 2 weeks cause I was getting burnt out from all of it. Guess I'll head back out into the real world with the rest of the questers, and see what 2.3 has given us.

Thanks again.
