i was wondering if it is hard playing WoW, epically because im new and want to join the game, but im worried that i wont know how to play, where to level, and making money. I don't have any friends playing this game either. I've already decided to pick the class Priest.

WoW is probably is one of the most beginner friendly mmo's around. You should have no problem learning the basics. Keep in mind the classes often turn out much drastically than you imagine them so if you get to level 20 and just aren't feeling the character consider trying another class until you find one you like. At worst, you don't enjoy any others and you go back to your priest, it'll still be there.

Also, when you start thread it's usually better to have a specific topic or question for others to answer. just fyi.

I felt much the same way starting this game as it was my first massively online game and I didn't know how the social environment would factor in when I wasn't always on as much as others, etc. Anyway, three years later I can say it was a pleasure from the start and continues to be a passion in my life :)

As Defaulty mentioned, WoW is geared toward the new players (as are all of Blizzard's products). It is almost impossible to NOT succeed in leveling up and experiencing all the areas of the WoW world. The quests lead you from one place, trainer, etc. to another when your level needs it. You can play at your pace in a solo mode or you can group up with others and either works to let you progress.

As far as which characters to play, you already mentioned your initial choice is the priest and that will work out fine. It is not the easiest choice for survivability, but all classes work early on. I agree with Defaulty in the "keep it flexible" kind of mindset early on. It really helps to try out many classes early on where leveling is easy and quick. You get a sense for how they all work and that will help you down the road when you are grouped with them. At some point, you will want variety too. This is why I play a priest, warlock, and rogue. I get to heal, range dps, and melee depending on my mood.

Good luck with the priest leveling and don't sweat the small stuff. Apply your same real life social skills to the game and you will find "friends" in WoW soon enough ... and that is where the real draw to this game comes from in end-game play.

As others have said, you should have no trouble finding your way around the game. Imo, you've already discovered one very important tool... this forum!

I wish I knew about it when I first started. There is so much invaluable information on here!

That having been said, the game steers you in the directions you should be heading... for example, when you're done with the quests in one area, you will get a quest to travel to another area, where the process repeats itself. Groups in WoW are alot of fun, but not necessary, so you can play either way.

I've been addicted to it since I started watching my hubby play....which of course lead to me needing my own account.

One thing I wish I knew at the beginning was to go find a profession trainer at level 5. I wasted alot of time not realizing how important finances/gold gathering were in the game.

Other than that, follow the game's lead and come back here to find answers to just about all of your questions.

Good Luck and HAVE FUN!!!!

None of my real life friends play WoW, but I have many online frineds now. So I'll answer the making money part.

For your first toon I recommend getting two gathering professions..either herbalism/skinning, or mining/skinning. This way you can sell everything at the AH (auction house) for a profit. Don't waste your money buying gear either. You'll get good enough stuff from the quest rewards and instance runs.

Save it for your first mount which comes at level 40. Then if you want, you can drop one of your gathering professions and pick up a crafting one.

Once you get to Outland, money will flow into your pockets hand over foot.

I highly recommend the walk-thrus on http://www.wow-pro.com/ - make that leveling that much easier.
