Hello all,
I'm running Kara with a new warrior in our guild tonight,
usually we run with a Druid offtank that DPS's when there is no tanking to do.
Well, I talked with him today and he's willing to spec a hybrid DPS build so he can be effective when there is tank downtime.
Anyone have any good ideas for a decent offtank spec?
(I have not off tanked anything in a long time, so I'm a bit out of the loop on Hybrid (dps) spec's)

17/41/3 is a perfectly viable offtank spec (providing you've got a good tanking gear).
We just had a warrior go for an OT build and since he didn't quite have enough defense in his tanking gear without anticipation, after a pretty fun discussion, he went with this build.

nice build. but is anticipation really necessary? cause that could be put somewhere else that could be a lot more useful... cause my spec is

i find it easy to offtank instances. i have better gear tho probably, but still. that is an effective build none the less. take the point of piercing howl and toss it into commanding pressence to make it less pvp/raid and more off-tankish.

If you go to Kara as an OT you will not actualy need to produce tons of aggro or have same survivability as MT. But you will probably be expected to DPS well on most bosses.
My advice is - go in DPS build. Get nice tanking gear but dont gimp ur DPS.
Unless you die at Moroes which is the only harder hitting boss that you will need to tank a bit(Netherspite doesn't count - mage could probably tank him while standing in red beam and in Opera you should do fine as well).
