I have mine up to level 65 now...damn, leveling in the 60s is slow...

Anyway, it's a wolf. Exactly the same as all other wolves, except it looks different. It can bite, dash, use furious howl, etc. It eats meat. It's growl does sound a little different, I think - I haven't pulled out my original wolf in a while to compare, though. It also walks differently. Other than that, it's exactly the same as all other wolves.

Check out http://petopia.brashendeavors.net

It has the same stats as any other wolf, any other skin. Doesn't know any abilities when you tame him.

A friend petitioned a GM in game and got a hold of a good one. The GM asked a superior about the wolf, told my friend what he knew and when my friend asked him questions he didn’t know the answer to he told him so instead of making things up.

From what my friend told me the wolf taming is considered to be a bug and Blizzard currently plans to make it untamable. But they do not yet know what they will do about the wolves already tamed. But as we all know, it’s not over until the fat ogre sings. Blizzard may well change their collective minds several times before any action is taken.

I too would like to see the wolf make tamable by any hunter, just as the ghost kitty can be. I see no harm in it. It’s just a wolf with a different skin. What’s more likely is Blizzard making the wolf untamable, just as they did the snakes early on. If so I hope those that have tamed them get to keep them. I’ll be jealous, but they deserve them in my opinion. But Blizzard could, again like the snakes, make it so that the wolves cannot be fed. I guess only time will tell.

I saw my first ghost wolf in Iron Forge yesterday. I hear Blizz will be leaving the ghost wolf alone, i.e. available to hunters that want to tame him. Unfortunately I can't find the link where I read that.

Exactly! What's the harm in it?

Calabar: Blizz have already said that although the wolf was never meant to be tamed, they feel it's "a fun use of in-game mechanics" and aren't going to make it untameable.

Says on the second page of that thread that they're even planning to fix the run animation in a future patch. If that doesn't say they're happy for us to keep them, I don't know what does.

Neat, but I still think a Nightsaber fits my Hunter better. Grats to those who tamed it, though.

Thanks. That’s great news. I’ll pass this along to my friend. He was much keener to tame a ghost wolf than I was. Though I may well do so should I get a socketed item for that gem.

Seriously, Humar... Nightsabers get real boring real fast with that angular head. I just can't fathom why they were so horribly poorly designed.

got this wolf yesterday.
im a nelf hunter. and do not have negineering.

the wolf will not be nerfed by blizz.

they consider it a aspect of teamworking to get it- cause u need to time this right to get it done. (said by petopia)

I got mine the other night. I went by myself first to proctice the timing, then got some guiildies to help. As soon as my gem proced, MC preist summoned wolfs, shammy dropped heroism and our LW rogue started bangign on the drums. We got him first attempt.

As far as I know I was the first on Alliance toon on Medivh to grab him. The tells are getting pretty annoying already though. :)

This page is blocked from work but can someone quote what the blue said in the post about them not changing it. I just read that they did change it and you can no longer tame the Ghost Wolf.

Speaking of which, slap some sm tags on it, and kill the linebreaks. It's annoying when your sig takes more space than your post.

RIP tameable Ghost Wolf. Damn you Blizzard! You always seem to correct the good flaws!
