GOOD NEWS: GHOST WOLF TAMED!!Follow

I took these screen dumps myself (100% real). This guy from Taiwan using the engineering “Surestrike Goggles v2.0″'s Meta-Socket for “Mystical Skyfire Diamond” to reduce the cast time, and tamed this wolf successfully, good job!

ps. ghost wolf is summoned by a mob from Dustwallow Marsh, but it only lives for 7secs, so need to reduce taming time to 7-8sec to get it.. I believe this is the first tame of the world.

Okay that's it. I'm taking up engineering again. Epic Leatherworking skills be damned.

Excellent. That's one cool looking pet. :)

Forgive my suspicion, but it would have been nice to see the actual wolf clicked on and saying "So-and-so's Pet." You know, just as confirmation...

Well, I didn't think about to click on it, because I was too exciting to see this..

First, people from our forum was trying to figure out how to tame it.
Then, someone post that he saw a hunter had just tamed this wolf, so I message that hunter and ask him to let me take screen dumps.

I can promise this is 100% real, the guy told me he spent more than 2 hours for it, since the diamond's effect is by chance(5%?)..

I still don't believe it. Could be a shaman couldn't it?
#6 Nov 20 2007 at 10:27 AM Rating: Excellent
This is the last time I say this, it is 100% real. Why would I make up something like this.

My org char is lv1 since I am from a different server to this hunter. He called this wolf right in front of me. That's it, believe or not, I am sure there will be more ppl proving this, since I already post to Petopia.

Mystical Skyfire Diamond + Troll Zerking

I dont believe this story for a sec.

What is the name of the wolf? Most of the wolves that have that skin are not considered beasts.

Overall I think this is a hoax

Confirmation 1 and TKAsomething thread on Ghost Wolf taming.

Apparently, Engineering isn't needed. All you need is the Mystical Skyfire Diamond metagem, and make sure it proccs. Also, you would either need a Troll racial or some LW Drums to further decrease the Taming cast-time.

One thing is for certain, this isn't intended by Blizzard. So get that gem, get yourself some Drums (or a Troll) and go tame it before they remove this "bug" like they did with doubletrapping.

Go go go!

I wonder if this will be considered a bad thing by Blizzard, like the first time hunters tamed snakes and Blizzard made it so that they could no longer be fed.

Hey North... Drums of Battle decreases by 30%, why would you need less than that? Or that + a haste potion as above.
#12 Nov 20 2007 at 6:12 PM Rating: Decent
Well, according to the various sources, the one person who did tame this wolf had to use both the Skyfire Diamond and the Troll Racial to pull it off. Thus, 30% haste wouldn't be enough from what I can tell. Hell, that Hunter spent two hours trying to time the tame right as well.

Very impressive...congratulations to that hunter ;-)

If this wolf if THAT difficult to tame, I expect there will be very few hunters that manage it. So Blizzard may not care one way or the other. For the first time ever, there seems to be a truly rare hunter’s pet out there.

Tonight is my night to tame him. =) I've got an Earthwarden's Coif with a meta-socket waiting for that gem, I'm going to make some drums, AND I'm a Troll. Hopefully I'll pull it off, but I'll let you guys know how it goes!!!

Pics if I manage to get it.

BTW I tried both the Drums and the Haste Potion at the same time and they didn't even seem to touch the casting time on Tame Beast, thinking of getting a Shammy with Heroism to see if that works, but the potion didn't even seem to affect it at all.

A NElf has tamed one using the MSD, Drums of Battle and a Shammy with heroism. For an extra edge, a JuJu Flurry from the E'ko quests in Winterspring would be a good idea.

It can be done by a non troll, but timing is going to be crucial.

Before I go and try this myself, I want to know if using the drums after the gem procs will use up the gem proc. Does anyone know? In my mind, this would make it significantly more time-consuming and difficult.

Nope- Drums are 30 Second charge- you can use them, have your Shammy friend pop Heroism, then switch aspects to get the gem to proc, dunk a haste potion, then tame away.

I'm going to go looking for this wolf tonight. Does anyone have any details about where exactly this is, and how to spawn him?
