Damage per second issuesFollow

I am BM hunter,with most of pre-raid gear..I have AP 1400 unbuffed,22% crit, and agi and stamina more-less 450..aa and speed 2.00
But i have dps 300..I see many others specced,full of epics.with AP over 1700 and agility over 500, have less than 300 dps..how could this happened?

I need some explanation about the damage per second thing..Is it so important?The damage of our pet is something else?Do BM hane so huge different in dps than the other specced?

1) the dps number you see there has not much to do with the actual damage you deal.

2) Numbers of BM hunters are higher than those of other specs because of serpent swiftness. This increases the DPS number (tooltip dps, or paper doll dps) by 20%. Other specs have other talents increasing their dps which are not reflected in this number (e.g. more crit, more multi-shot damage, ...).

Basically you cannot compare hunters by that numbers. If you want to compare gear & Co go for the basic stats AP, crit, agi and keep the spec in mind as other specs will focus on other things.
