still a little confused?!Follow

hey guys, comin back from wow after a little break. me and a friend decided to roll ally, and i wanna be a rogue. ill prob go gnome (any comments on the choice?) but after reading the stickies/faq/etc. im still a little confused about the different specs. from what i read, assassination isnt good to pick just for that one spec becuz its got a bunch of useless things, and its not worth spending points in to get to the better parts. combat is mostly for pve and increases or makes ur current attacks better. subtlety is for being or remaining in stealth, which is a little beter for pvp. am i on the right track here? i dont usually pvp much and i do mostly quests and instances, therefore i think im gonna go combat. wood that be the right way to go? and comments or suggestions wood be greatly appreciated.

so ur saying i shood go combat, but when u say swords does that meen duel wield both swords? cood i not use a good dagger in MH if i got a good one, therefore allowing me to backstab,ambush,etc?
