I have been putting some time recently into inspecting the armory profiles of the lvl 70 Rogues who exist in a guild I would like to join. The guild is clearing Kara and looking to move on to more difficult things.
I know that a fair few of you consider Kara to be baby steps, but I haven't ever had the time or luck to even start raiding; so to me Kara would be a big leap from random PuG groups to something (anything!) purple.
More to the point: I need some advice. Having seen some of the terrible choices their "Top rogues" have made I am really considering choosing another guild. However it seems evident that they *can* clear Kara and that since their rogues seem to be at least mildly retarded - I would have a much better chance of standing out in the crowd and getting my hands on better gear.
They have 8 lvl 70 rogues in their guild. Those worthy of mention are:
Their "best" geared rogue (by a long way).
About 4 standard Combat dagger builds not worthy of linking.
And the bad ones:
This... *THING* for example. I seriously don't know what is going on here... if you can be this retarded & live through Kara long enough to get loot I vastly over-estimated the difficulty of Kara.
Another very confused individual.
And finally someone who is so confused they have 5/5 in dagger spec.. yet aren't using daggers.
I mean seriously, i'm actually speechless. But I really want to experience some end-game content and those I used to play wow with have all stopped except for the one guy who is in this guild & will vastly improve my chances of getting in.
What do you think? Find anything/any other guild? Or just roll with it, pick up some gear & ditch them when I've milked all I can?

I know, i've seen it. I was thinking of submitting some of these guys into the competition...
The worst part is that almost every Combat-dagger rogue in this guild has copied the "best geared" guy's Talent setup yet they all seem to mess it up. There was one guy I saw who was Combat Daggers but didn't bother to pick up Improved Backstab.

In my experiance raiding kara, if your an organized bunch of retards, you can clear it. If you are good players, and are un organized, you fail. This being said, most guilds wont notice your improved play over the other rogues especially if the rest of the guild follows suit like these guys. I have been in several guilds that can clear kara, ive been EXTREMELY outgeared everytime. And ive always managed to sit 1-2 on the dps meters, but not one guild as a whole has ever said anything. They still invite their epic'd out horrible rogues over someone who obviously displays a better comprehension of the oh so difficult class. So i wouldnt count on that to carry you through :(.
