I was just messing with the talent calculator and cam up with the following as a destruction based build:

I'm not wanting to try it, just trying to get some opinions on its viability in certain areas. Thanks in advance.

DSac Ruin and Fel Concentration... interesting. Look's good but Imp Drain Soul is useless that high, put a point in Suppression. Only problem here is you don't get the longevity of Demo OR Fliction, so you're looking at some downtime, which brings us to the question of LT DL or Spaming Intensity SBs? Hardest call there for sure. If you're not gonna spam Destro the whole build is for not. That's my only problem =)

Actually, that was the point of this build, to spam destro spells and deal quite a bit of damage before falling out. As far as longevity, thats why we have HS, SS, and the occasional DL/DM.

I was aiming for low to no cast times on SB, high damage, and minimum interruption. When I make a build I base it on everything that could go right and say "hmm". For this one, I was looking at sacced succubus, critical SBs and Nightfall procs. Definitely not a great build because I dont have 30 points in any tree, but something for theorycraft if ya catch my drift.

30 points in no tree is not the issue for me. Nightfall simply doesn't proc that much, and what it's good for is just a nice instant cast every once in a while when drain tanking. Even when your primary spell damage is DL it goess off like 2 out of every 3 fights, and when fear chaining it's more like once every 3 or 4 fights.

Bane is nice but it doesn't really make SB "low" cast time compaired to this build's other options. 2.5 seconds is a long time in PVP, not that DL doesn't take longer to do it's damage, but it has some obvious other bonuses including it doesn't tend to break fear like SB would.

I wouldn't consider SS being part of "longevity," unless you enjoy dying constantly -- and in organized PVP rounds and fights are going to be going by too quickly to rely on it. HS is obviously nice, but I personally find the Imp HS talent to be sub-par and DM is not a reliable source of Mana income.

For Demo/Fliction, longevity comes in the form of ridiculous overheals which can be mitigated to either a pet tank or turned into mana (or by just sitting and taking damage which works too) and then using either Manafeed LT or Dark Pact to rejuvinate any mana they have lost. I don't see a consistent longevity factor in this. Would make a nice dueling build... that's for sure.
