I once read a long thread about demo-locks kicking *** once they got 2 t5 pieces. As of today i am the proud owner of two pieces and i wanted to know if anyone of you guys van whoop up some decent build, castsequences, trinkets and how to socket. i have never played a demo-lock in my 52 days /played, so i am kinda clueless on how builds and castsequences look like.

Thanks in advance.

I've been Demo from the beginning....lvl 69 now....My cast sequence is pretty simple.... Send minion,CoA, Conflaf, Immolate, Life Tap, Drain life. I can usually handle 3 bad guyz at a time as long as thier not more than 2 lvls above me. I'll break my sequence to heal my minion, and only FEAR if he dies, or if a 4th mob joins the fight.

lol, someone must really dislike you oaken.

Anyways, I suspect that you're referring to playing demo (fel guard) in raids.
I'm using fel guard in raids and I'm always high in dmg, usually first or second.
You can have a look at my armory profile if you want.

Where is Sethy when you need him...
This is his expertise. I'd wait for him to give some advice, I honestly don't know, never tried it.

yeah, heheh someone really hates me^^

anyways what does your castsequence look like pompa?
damn you, you got the voidstar talisman.
Tell me what castsequence do you use?

Thanks alot hips, but i was kinda looking for an endgame raidingbuilt, and not a levelingbuild.

There is a pretty standard felguard raiding build at this point. 6/44/11. If you really want a thorough write-up on how to raid with a felguard and what works and why it works, go to this thread http://www.wowmb.net/forums/showthread.php?t=17405

Personally I love raiding with the felguard, it just takes a lot of micromanagement. Personally I cast an easy rotation of corruption, COA, immolate, spam shadow bolts until I need to refresh my dots. Obviously there is a lot of adaptation as a fight requires but that's the basic concept.

Here's my armory too. I'm lookin forward to a day where I'll have 2/5 T5 but it still works fine without it.

Rateup, since you didn't deserve a ratedown, also, Hips' sequence works really well(in theory, my warlock is only lvl 42 for now)

Corruption, curse, immolate. Then shadow bolt and renew DoTs as necessary.
And you'll need some pet control to keep him out of whirlwinds and cleaves, have him on an apropriate target and make sure he doesn't cleave sheeps etc.

I got two vortexes yesterday so with a few more primals I'm getting a belt of blasting...I'm gearing so that I'll be able to switch between demo and destro when I feel like it or think it's appropriate :)
(That is, I'll change to belt of blasting when I spec destro. The one I have now is better for demo)

lucky you the only one able to build the belt, hasn´t been raiding in 8 weeks the pattern dropped on the 3rd trahsmob-grp we ever did in ssc and now all casters are anxious to get to bid on the vortexes hopefully the pattern will drop again or the guy who can tailor it will return.

Thanks for your help anyways, could you tell me how to do best on hydross, lurker and tidewalker we are going for these today^^

Its HER grrrr... I am a lady :p

I am toying with destro atm and I dont raid so I would suggest reading Warlocks Den, they have lot of "raiding with felguard" sort of threads.

As far as my spell rotation with demo went (5 mans ofc) it was CoS spam SB on trash and CoD, Corr, Immo, spam SBs on bosses with refreshing dots when expired.
I was 5/45/11 btw.

Pet control is essential, I had all his abilities hotkeyed and I used them manually. I think that pet management actually makes difference between good and bad demo lock.
But then I have more fun playing my hunter right now :)

sadly hip's sequence is for solo pve, oaken is obviously after a raiding pve build and cast sequence.
spec ways, something along the lines of 5/41/15. now depending on your shadow dmg, you may need a 2nd point in mana feed... though i do seriously doubt it. now you could loose some points from devestation so as to gain imp.LT/soul siphon, also the reason i haven't taken shadowburn is because it's not a raiding pve ability. spell rotation is the same as afliction. keep up your dots at all times. keep up whatever curse you're casting and otherwise spam shadowbolt.
also one of the bonus's of the FG spec is that threat basically isn't an issue due to 20-40% of our damage being done by the FG which has it's own threat (the damage varies alot depending on boss abilities and how 'pet friendly' they are)

for trash and bosses. keep the FGs taunt ability turned off

for trash mobs, dots usually are wasted except for immolate (obviously mobs with high health deserve being dotted) and if any mobs are being CC'd, keep cleave on manual (unless they're being CC'd properly away from where you dps the mobs down)
keep charge on manual and make sure you're ready to /petpassive /petattack at the right times to get a stun in when needed.

for bosses, put cleave on auto, charge on manual and always make sure to set a /petstay point somewhere around the boss so that if the boss turns / does an aoe etc... you can easily pull it out of the way with little worries of it dieing.

now quite a few people think that the voidstar talisman trinket is a requirement for FG dps, but in reality it's far from it except on the few bosses that have a constant magical damage aura (and presuming its resistable, you'd be surprised at how many arn't). basically any boss which does a magical aoe on a cd is easily avoidable. just simply press /petpassive a few seconds before it happens and your pet will easily be out of the range. then just charge it back in and carrying on dpsing (much safer than 'relying' on high resistances and ending up getting a fully unresisted aoe on the felguard, why happens more often than you'd think)

one thing I'm not sure of though is if the avoidance change done for hunter pets affects our felguard to or not? basically hunter's avoidance is now a 50% reduction in aoe damage rather than 50% chance to avoid it, anyone know if this change has happened with the felguard's one too?

and the lurker
http://img129.imageshack.us/img129/3769/wowscrnshot112107191738nj9.jpg

...forgot to set pet on boss 2 times =(

and here goes tidewalker...almost a wipe since a paladin accidenially bubbled the MT...

http://img223.imageshack.us/img223/7651/wowscrnshot112107204729vt8.jpg

bear in mind that both hydross and tidewalker are bossmobs where some severe ae´ing is done, i have yet to try it on melee-unfriendly bosses and bosses where no ae is required.

To see the full proof of my femininity you should provide me with proof of your legal age first :p

#17 Nov 22 2007 at 5:25 AM Rating: Decent
Gotta love Loki - he never gives up. :o)

Sethy - were I to provide proof of my 31 years, are you saying you'd provide full proof of your femininity? I'm not sure how I feel about you now...I thought you were a woman of substance...but then, maybe you are...hmm... ;o)

Of course, this could be a Jen-only offer, couldn't it!

Its Jen-only and not an offer, a warning would be more like it.
Dont you know pics are the least reliable proof online btw?

Yeah you gotta love Loki, its nice to see someone stable and persistent in this unstable world.
But then my reqs are bit tough, I am not sure he would like them anyway :p

(Un)lucky Jen then! ;o)

And of course they are, but hey, free pics!!!
