Gearing up as a low levelFollow

Ok, so before everyone talks about reading the sticky, I have read the sticky. And I know that for feral, the most important stats are agility/str/stamina. The problem is that at level 23, it seems like I just can't find gear that appropriately fits this mold. My damage seems low in both cat and bear form, I have a pathetic mana pool, and my health is nothing to write home about either. Taking on a single yellow monster takes me down to a little less then half health.

The way that I generally start a fight is stealth up to a target (if possible), shred, claw it a couple times, then rend. At this point, The mob is at around half ish health, but I am getting beat on as well, so I drop into caster form and try to heal. However, when i do that, my armor is significantly lower and my heals get interrupted so much that by the time I can actually get the heal off, my health is back to where I started before I tried to cast the heal in the first place. Regardless, then I drop into bear form and am generally able to finish the target with me at 1/3 to 1/2 health remaining.

After this though, since I am at low health, I drop back into caster form to heal. But since shapeshifting takes up so much mana, I need to wait for mana to regenerate before I can even heal. and THEN I need to wait some more to regenerate enough mana to even be able to shift back into cat form.

And oh, god forbid there are adds. SO am I doing something obnoxiously wrong, am I geared up wrong, or what? Where is this the grinding machine that can go on with zero downtime for hours at a time? It just seems like I MUST be missing something.

Ok, i have a 70 druid. I almost never use bear when fighting a solo mob, the amount of damage it's armour negates isnt worth the loss of cat's damage output. You shouldnt heal during a fight unless you go below 25% or so health, just heal after the mob has been killed or if you really need to, shift out cast rejuvination >> war stomp (if youre tauren, if not it doesnt matter)and then use regrowth. thats all you should need, just shift back into cat and finish the mob off. Only use bear to fight multiple mobs or mobs that are red/elite.

Try to avoid healing touch it takes too long to cast

On the question of gear i tend to lean towards Stam > Str > agi. or str > stam > agi depending on the situation. i have 2 16 slot bags full of different gear to match my needs.

The reason that I am going into bear form is that I get destroyed in cat form. I just take so much damage in cat form that I need to drop out to heal so much that ithas been making more sense to open in cat and then go to bear.

Cat form has no armor bonus, so your armor does not significantly lower.
You might want to try armor kits or elixirs of defense if your armor seems to be too low.
Also, what level are the enemies you are fighting? The enemy's level is probably the most important part of determining the difficulty of battles.

Don't worry about gear at your level. You will find little and waste lots of time looking for it. Just work on leveling you toon with what is readily available to you. The most important thing is to make sure you spec for the way you play. Speccing Restro and trying to level Feral doesn't work!
You will notice that once you get to higher levels, you fight much better. You just need to get some more talents working for you. Druids are about thier talents and you don't have enought to really work with yet. Once you hit the deeper talents you spec really starts to shine.

First off, the grinding machine doesn't really show up until about level 36. You gotta hang in there for a long time to get it, but it's worth it.

Meanwhile, if you must pop out ot heal, do it at 60% or so, throw on a quick Rejuv, and then back to cat. Regrowth if it's more dire than that. Don't let yourself get down so low that you need an HT though. Popping out and trying to cast a Healing Touch on yourself in the middle of a fight is, as you note, almost always a waste of time, at least until you get Barkskin.

In between fights, throw on Regrowth and Rejuv and start on the next mob while they're still ticking off.

You may want to prioritize Stamina more if your health is really getting that low versus yellow mobs that you can't ever complete the fight without a heal. But I still agree with others that at this level you can't be too worried about eq, you're replacing it constantly anyway.

I'd only recommend using bear form for multiple mobs. Otherwise stay in cat - ending the fight ASAP is your friend.

Do you fish and cook? Make sure you keep a stack of cooked fish with buffs handy - mana regen and stamina buffs are especially nice.

Oh, and first aid too - bandage between fights to save mana while you're still at low levels and the grinding is slow.
